We know that military families with LGBTQIA+ dependents face unique challenges (e.g., frequent moves, shifting social/political climate, etc.), which outlines a substantial need to increase our capacity to support these families. As a result, our Cohen Clinics at Centerstone are actively working to counteract the emotional burden of loneliness and hopelessness. Increasing a family’s capacity to provide affirming support is key to reducing mental health symptoms in LGBTQ youth. Centerstone’s Cohen Clinics are behavioral health providers with dual competency in military culture and services for LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.

MATCH stands for Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems, and can be individualized to support kids and families who are experiencing one or more of these issues. Caregivers are the most important people in a child's life, so MATCH involves participation from the caregivers to support children in learning skills and strategies.
