On the big day, you’ll have two entrance options: a front entrance celebration with Rocky, spirit leaders, and music, or a quieter, yet equally warm and welcoming, entrance at the back. Choose the one that suits you and your student best!

Changes to School Start and Stop Times
In an effort to streamline our transportation services across all campuses, the district has made some adjustments to school start and stop times for the upcoming year. At Root Elementary, these changes will slightly shift our daily schedule.
Doors Open to Greet Students: 7:25 AM
Student Dismissal: 3:10 PM
This is a 10-minute shift from our schedule in previous years. We believe this adjustment will help improve the efficiency of our transportation services and ensure a smoother start and end to each school day. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we implement these changes to better serve our students and families.

What does the PTO do? We gather resources, sponsorships, fundraisers, and volunteers to bring amazing events to our Root community! Supporting the PTO means supporting all these fantastic events and opportunities!

Field Day is Tomorrow! Please see times and t-shirt details! Please also see important message below about field day adjustments because of the rainy weather lately!

Due to changing weather conditions, field day could potentially be moved indoors. The official weather call will be made by 7:30 AM.

In the event that we must transition indoors, we are requesting only parent volunteers helping run stations with PTO attend. We do not have room for parent spectators with limited space inside.

Hey Root Families! We are so excited for Field Day on Thursday, May 23rd. This will be a day full of fun for the kids to celebrate all their hard work this year! Students will get to rotate between 4 stations of games and relays, 2 inflatable stations, a dunk tank with root staff members and the Kona ice truck!

We ask for each grade level to wear the same color shirt to help keep everyone together. Below is the schedule for each grade and their color. 

K : BLUE 8:30- 10:30

1st: GREY 10:30-12:30

2nd: RED 8:30-10:30

3rd: WHITE 10:30-11:30 & 12:30-1:30

4th: GREEN ROOT “BETTER TOGETHER “ Shirt 11:30- 1:30 

Remember to send your student to school in tennis shoes and don’t forget their sunscreen! 

This year we are so lucky to have VOLUNTEERS from FHS to help with Field Day! All families are welcome to join us! If you bring any extra kiddos they will be able to purchase a Kona kiddie cup for $2. See you there!

The Root Variety show is ONE week away! Parents of participants are invited to attend. We can’t wait to watch these talented Root Rocket stars!

Rocky Mascot training was held today! Our new mascot, Joshua Gibbs, passed the test! Thank you for volunteering for such an important role!

And a HUGE thank you to Kellie Rollins for her many years of service as Rocky. Root is lucky to have had you for so many years!
