Welcome back! Hope you all have a great 1st week of the spring semester.

Congratulations, Caroline Stubblefield, on receiving the MU Outstanding Pre-Service Teacher of the Year Award. Well Deserved! We had a wonderful time at the Keystone Reading Conference in Hershey, PA to celebrate her achievement. Thank you for the NCICU Science of Reading Grant.

SNCAE/KDP club members shared about their field placement experiences as they made blankets for students to stay warm.

The MU Teacher Ed Department was happy to host the Home School Group for a Wax Museum event. The K-12 students dressed-up as different historical figures and completed wonderful presentations. The MU pre-service teachers used rubrics to score and provide rewards to the students.

Some of the pre-service teachers at MU had to take part in practice interviews with three professors this week. Students have to meet different criteria to be formally admitted into our Teacher Education Program.

This week we had a wonderful panel discussion with these amazing MU Student Teachers.

Our MU pre-service are working with students in various field placement experiences. Our faculty supervisors have been completing a lot of observations and providing feedback.

Pre-service teachers at Methodist University started tutoring first graders using and RoboKind robots as teaching assistants. We are increasing the instruction and early literacy rates one student at a time.

I love that reaches out to the community to help elementary school students develop a love for literacy. Our MU Teacher Education Department has a strong partnership with local schools, and we love to provide support whenever possible.

We started tutoring first grade students after school. It was wonderful seeing the pre-service teachers and students tutoring first graders and making a positive impact in the community. I’m excited for next week when we use robots as teaching assistants.
