Trailer Park Collectibles
Trailer Park Collectibles located in historic downtown Fernandina Beach.
We’re celebrating Secondhand September on our Friday night walk-through!
Why shop secondhand?
1. Shopping secondhand is sustainable and cost-effective!
2. It allows you to decorate and dress uniquely!
3. It’s a treasure hunt! It’s the best way to find a piece to add to your favorite collection or, better yet, to find something you didn’t even know you needed!
4. Most importantly, it means you’re supporting small businesses!
So come walk through the Trailer Park where you’ll enjoy the hunt and love the find!
Today, we’re happy to introduce you to our spotlight vendor Donna.
Donna moved to the island just over two years ago from Southern California to be near three of her four sisters. She became part of the Trailer Park family shortly after the move as both a vendor and a shop worker.
However, vending is nothing new for Donna. She began showing her entrepreneurial spirit in elementary school. She would make trinkets from shells and beads and offer them for sale to passersby at the beach. She’d also made dish gardens from yard plants and took them door-to-door in her neighborhood. Her vending continued through her junior and senior high school years as she sold fresh-picked blackberries to the local grocery store and handmade upcycled denim hats to classmates.
In 1992, the youngest of Donna’s three children started school, so she began selling handmade and vintage items at an antique store. She ended up having spaces in four different antique stores over a 30 year period before leaving California. Additionally, she was a pioneer in selling on eBay and Etsy and was a regular vendor at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet.
Donna also began collecting at a young age. She would put souvenirs such as napkins, post cards and matchbooks from vacations into scrapbooks, pick up blown glass figurines from tourist shops and saved all her gum ball machine and Cracker Jack toys. She loved reading Nancy Drew books from the original series then displayed them neatly in her bedroom. She still has many of these items today.
As the years went by, Donna’s interests shifted to all things Disney. She was a Disneyland Passholder for 12 years and was able to find rare items at special park events. Although she collected a wide variety of Disney, her main focus was on Alice in Wonderland. She ended up with an entire room of Alice memorabilia from lamps and wall decor to clothing items and toys. These days, Donna isn’t really into specific collections anymore. Her new love is finding midcentury modern items to decorate her 1949 island home.
Donna’s hobbies include junking with her sisters, walking and exploring the island and making use of her new Amelia Island Museum of History membership. She enjoys living near family for the first time in years.
You’ll find Donna’s space down the second aisle on the left. When you see her space, you’ll understand why she’s often called “Disney” at the shop. Her booth has a plethora of vintage and collectible Disney pieces, hand-embellished artwork and many other fun and unique items for the young and young at heart.

Today’s vendor spotlight features local artisan Jeannie of Whimsy What Nots. Jeannie began making her mixed media art pieces about three years ago. After putting one together, she sent a picture of it to her son and a few of her friends. Her son immediately let her know that he wanted to buy it, then her friends started placing custom orders for more. From there, her business grew. She sold her work at craft shows in the Fort Myers area until her home was damaged by Hurricane Ian and she lost most of her art. Lucky for us, when she and her husband moved here about a year ago, she began crafting again.
Jeannie’s hobbies all seem to involve making something. In addition to the art pieces she sells at Trailer Park, she makes balm, whip, soap and lip balm from beef tallow, candles, wax melts, goat milk soap, and allergy-free children's soap and laundry detergent. She’s also expanded her art work to include painted trees and glass ornaments.
Jeannie has gone through a lot of change and weathered hard losses in life including that of her first husband and one of her six children. She has gone from running an Ohio hobby farm with goats, sheep, alpacas, chickens, peacocks, ducks, mini ponies, guardian dogs, pheasants, and pigs to living near the beach and creating art. She’s happily found love again and has been remarried for almost 5 years. She’s the grandmother of 22 (20 are biological) grandchildren one of which was born two days ago! She’s also a dog mom to Jimmie, the cocker spaniel.
Jeannie’s art is in the front of the store in the artisan section. It’s made up of found objects, from shells, sea glass, and sticks to rubber duckies and googly eyes. Every piece is unique and would make a wonderful gift.
She’s bringing brand new pieces in on Friday, so be sure to come by and get your favorite before it’s gone!

It’s vendor spotlight time again! Today, we’re featuring Julie Z. Julie is originally from Maine, but fell in love with Fernandina Beach when she first came here about 17 years ago. Julie started as a frequent shopper at Trailer Park and soon made friends with a vendor. She ended up sharing a space with her new friend and has been with us for ten years now.
Julie enjoys crafting of all types including sewing, drawing, painting, weaving, collage and jewelry making. She is also a collector with varied taste. When she was young, her uncle introduced her to stamp collecting. Her mom collected buttons and her dad collected old postcards. She now owns both of their collections along with several of her own including Pyrex, green jars, midcentury modern items, paintings by local artists, fabric and yarn.
Julie is currently the aquatics director at the YMCA. Her responsibilities include teaching water aerobics and swim lessons, coaching the swim team, and lifeguarding.
From vintage to handmade, Julie’s space is filled with items as eclectic as her tastes. As you walk in front door, head down that aisle to find Booth 68 on the right.
So cute!

It’s vendor spotlight time again and this week we’re featuring Trudy. Trudy began reselling in the 90s in Massachusetts. Her focus at that time was on primitives and antiques. Then, in 2005, her husband was transferred to the area for work and they ended up settling in Fernandina Beach. By the time he retired 5 years later, they had fallen in love with the area and decided to stay. However, Trudy admits she does miss autumns in New England.
Trudy has been reselling again for eleven years and joined the Trailer Park family eight years ago. This time around, her focus shifted to selling more of what she collects. Her personal collections include Asian pottery and furniture, blue and white pottery, pitchers, small porcelain trinket boxes, elephants, glass swans, miniature plants and animals, hand vases and vintage holiday decor. But that’s not all! If you see Trudy out and about, you’re likely to see her wearing a piece from her favorite collection of 1960s Giovanni rose pins.
When she’s not restocking her space and visiting with the staff and her customers at Trailer Park, Trudy enjoys gardening and playing golf with her husband. In fact, a few years ago, Trudy started a gardening club in her neighborhood. She and other members give talks of various topics and visit gardens in the area.
Next time you come into Trailer Park, take a walk down the far left aisle. You’ll recognize Trudy’s space from the huge selection of jewelry and purses. But as you step inside and look around, you’ll realize you’re actually getting a glimpse of Trudy herself.

For today's Friday walk-through, we're focusing on the diamond shape. This four-sided figure with equal sides has been present in art, architecture, and culture for centuries. Its use dates back to ancient civilizations. When you see a diamond shape, keep in mind that it carries deep symbolic meanings.
💪Just as the diamond gemstone is known for its hardness, the diamond shape symbolizes strength and durability.
🧠The clear lines of symmetry of the diamond shape represents clarity and wisdom.
⚖️Its equal sides and angles make it a symbol of balance and harmony.
Take a moment to explore some of the diamond shaped items we have available in the store. Look closely...some may not be obvious right away. Let us know in the comments your favorite piece!
This week’s vendor spotlight is on Jennifer of Mom’s Therapy. Jennifer joined the Trailer Park about 15 months ago. She’s a furniture painter and artist, along with being one of the Trailer Park Girls you’ll find helping customers throughout the shop.
Jennifer’s passion for painting furniture began about 12 years ago while she was a full-time stay-at-home mom. She decided to update the furniture in her home by painting it. She taught herself different techniques and finishes, then after two years of practice, she began selling some pieces. During this time, painting became a therapeutic escape from her around-the-clock mom duties thus the name “Mom’s Therapy.”
Jennifer’s “me time” may have been the catalyst for her business, but she’s undeniably devoted to her family. She’s been married for 25 years and homeschooled all four of their children. In fact, the two youngest graduated just this year. Way to go Mom! Jennifer also works for the Supervisor of Elections and finds time to read and hangout with her dog, Sunny, and two new cats, Cally and Teddy.
Jennifer’s space is stocked with painted furniture, original and vintage artwork and a variety of household items. Additionally, she continues to sell her pieces on consignment. You can reach out to the store for Jennifer’s contact info if you’re interested in having a piece of your furniture updated or to request a custom piece.
The attached pictures are a combination of items currently in Jennifer’s space and of pieces she has sold recently.
Y’all! Look at the transformation! From garage find to stunning, it’s heading into the Trailer Park soon!

It’s vendor spotlight time again and this week we’re featuring Carol of Carol’s Playroom. If you’re a Trailer Park regular, then you’re sure to have seen her friendly smiling face behind the front counter for several years now.
Carol’s retail career began 23 years ago when she became an Avon representative. She was a top seller of their products and won trips to Hawaii and Alaska! Then, fifteen years ago, she opened Unique Treasures and Collectibles in North Carolina. Her store had consignment pieces and individual vendor spaces. After ten years running the business, Carol closed her store and relocated to Yulee with her husband when his job transferred him to the area. Carol immediately found a home at Trailer Park and has been here since.
Carol’s Playroom is full of eclectic pieces, from quirky and funny decor to glassware and designer bags. She’s also our resident seller of Avon’s Skin So Soft products.
Like most of us, Carol enjoys shopping for her space. She’s often on the hunt with her friend Lu. Carol says they make a good team because they have different tastes and will find things for each other.
When she’s not at Trailer Park, Carol loves going fishing on her boat. Her largest catch to date is an 18 pound drum!!
She also enjoys reading and watching murder mysteries, riding their golf cart in the community Christmas parade and collecting head and hand vases and lighthouses.
Carol and her husband are approaching their 40th wedding anniversary. She has two children, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
You’ll find Carol’s Playroom near the front of the store. Come through the door, turn right, walk straight ahead and look for the display of snarky hand towels. Just like Carol, her playroom will bring a smile to your face.
It’s officially SUMMER ☀️☀️☀️ Come inside and enjoy the cool AC of the Trailer Park as we do our walk-through of summer fun and safety!
