Sweet Peach Rattery
Pet rodentry based in Findlay Ohio. Breeding for temperament and health. My goal is to teach people $5-$30
Due to lack of interest in mice, I will no longer be breeding them. I've completely stopped breeding rats as well due to potential RBF. I don't have the funds to test every single rat.
Once all of my rats and mice have lived their full lives, I will be getting guaranteed RBF free rats and will pick up breeding from there.
They will be albinos unless I find another breeder with proven RBF free rats.
If anyone is interested in rats or mice, let me know, and I'll adopt out what I currently have.
Because they aren't tested, I cannot allow them to go to homes with children. I do not want to put kids at risk.
I love my rodents, and this post is not what I expected to be posting, but I can't keep my rodentry up and running.
I'll post again when I get my rbf free rats and start up again in, potentially, a few years.
Thank you ❤
Update on the rescue babies:
The boy is black just like his dad
The rest are girls 😊
They are all very playful and energetic. Both of their parents are also playful and energetic! So we can see that trait continue into adulthood.
The albino girl is not pictured because she will be staying with me ❤
Contrary to popular belief, well bred male mice can safely live together. These males were raised in 3 separate bins now all cuddled in a pile.
Disclaimer:
I don't recommend getting a friend for your current lone male mouse unless you know he's capable of living with another male. There are male mice that will fight to the death, this post is just to inform you that the opposite is also true.
Thank you 😊
Mice!
Retired dove buck. He finally produced a self dove male for me, so he's no longer needed as I'm working towards perfect self mice. He is sweet, handleable, and was raised with other males well.
Message for details!
I also have plenty of females, and a couple other males available 😊
Including:
Black, dove, chocolate, champagne
Selfs and pieds. Satin and standard.
Message for pictures and details!
Rescue opportunity!
These rats were surrendered to me so I could help them find homes.
The all black one is a male, his name is Rascal.
He is currently up for reservation, but since I do not adopt single rats out, I will be offering one of my boys to go with him.
The black hooded is a female, her name is Pip.
The previous owners had them for about a month together, and she just gave birth today under my supervision ❤
She gave birth to 6 babies. There are 5 girls and 1 boy!
I will raise the babies and rehome them in 2 months along with the mom.
I will also suggest pairing her with one of my adult females for adoption.
If we rehome the mom with her babies, I will suggest 2 babies so they can grow and develop together.
-per my edit of the baby sexes, we can not do this for the male. I will raise him into adulthood so he can be paired with one of the adult boys.
Or, I will adopt him out to you sooner if you have other young rats for him to mingle with. He will still be going as a pair regardless.
Send a message for more information.
While the rat breeding is on hold, I'll be spending more time perfecting my mice. I have a few who are pet ready, and in a few months I should have mice available for adoption ❤
These mice are not available to adopt, but here are some examples of what to expect 😊
Recently there have been many rattery shutdowns because of rats testing positive for a bacteria that causes RBF in humans.
I'm currently on hold until I test, and hopefully mine test negative.
This bacteria isn't new, it just hasn't been noticed until a child got bit and ended up in the hospital. It's very likely you've owned a rat with this bacteria, but either never got sick, or haven't had an extreme reaction to RBF.
I have never gotten bitten, but I have been scratched and licked by my rats, and haven't gotten sick. This could just mean RBF doesn't affect me.
I've never been told that a rat of mine has made anyone sick, but 1. They could just not want to tell me 2. Maybe don't understand why they got sick, and didn't link it to rats.
Please do your own research. This information is just based on my personal experience. I will not be answering any questions regarding the bacteria because I'm not an expert, I'm just learning about this as well, and would not like to spread misinformation.
I will be updating when I get my test results back, but until then, I'm on hold.
If you have a rat reserved, I've sent you a message.
Thank you.
Final update on my one eyed girl, I just left her last follow up appointment, and it looks like this is going to be her eye forever. She will never be able to see out of it again, but it doesn't bother her anymore. Vet said no surgery is needed, just some extra maintenance to keep it clean❤
She can finally rejoin her sisters in the big cage again 🥰

Send a message for individual pictures. 😁
Update! 13 girls and 3 boys!
😍
I was right about 1 litter. All of these babies are identical! Different head markings, but all platinum capped!
Now all I need is to throw the silvermane gene in there and I have the silverest of rats🥰
I'm hoping temperament testing goes well because this line will be my personal favorite, so expect more of these in the future 🥰
Whiskers! Update on Siamese Rex litter.
We have Double Rex(mock hairless, short crinkled whiskers), Rex(wavy fur and wavy whiskers), and Standard(smooth coat, straight whiskers).
We have 4 Double Rex, 2 Rex, and 2 Standard babies 🥰
Turns out all 8 babies are Siamese as well! No Albino or Himalayan.
Still waiting on eyes to open to begin temperament testing. There are 2 runners in here that I found while documenting the whiskers, so I have to keep an eye on them for skiddishness.
Good news update on the blind eye!
The infection has cleared up, and her eye will remain intact!
She may still not be able to see very well out of it, but it's close to the best outcome we could've asked for 😊
Wish is currently giving birth ❤
16 healthy babies!*
My siamese is likely going to be a foster mom to some of these babies. This is my biggest litter yet!
Update: I fostered 3 off to the siamese litter because they weren't all getting fed*
Just like the siamese rex pairing, this is my second gen. No signs of aggression in the line, but possible skiddishness.
This litter will have a mixture of dumbo eared and standard eared.
All will have dark ruby eyes. If I'm correct, they should also all be the same color since she was paired to a male with very similar genetics. I believe this because their color is a recessive that's diluted the same way with the red eye gene.
In 2 months, I will post their availability 😊
Update, she is currently on antibiotics and pain meds for this week. Hoping the swelling goes down 🤞
Unfortunately my black rat girl has gone blind in one eye. I'd like for her to go to a home that has the time and energy to make her feel safe and loved. She is very scared and uncoordinated right now.
I do have the time and energy to work with her, but if anyone is interested in her, you must also have the same dedication.
Please have positive thoughts for her in her time of need ❤
Siamese rex × Siamese rex
6 boys and 2 girls!
This line is a work in progress, I'm only on the second generation, but the mother and father have great temperaments and personality. The siblings of the parents are mostly chewers, I selected the mother who is not to lessen the amount of nibblers. A couple of her siblings are absolute sweethearts, so I'm hoping this generation will be pet ready!
The babies won't be available for reservations until I complete temperament testing at 2 months of age.
You may express your interest, but don't be discouraged if none turn out.
I will not allow an aggressive rat to leave my home, for your rats' safety.
I will only pet home skiddish rats to people who have experience and are willing to work with them.
I should have Siamese, Himalayan, and Albino babies from her. Coat types will either be Rex or Double Rex(mock hairless). All will have pink(visually red) eyes.
New litter availability/update post!
Pictures aren't the best, I got them taken quickly. Descriptions under each photo.
Definitely available:
1 AB boy
1 RB boy
2 Black boys
ETA- The random red eyed baby is Mink! He has an odd genetic mutation that only diluted a patch of his fur to a beige/tan color and left the rest of him as mink.
I'm considering keeping the Mink boy because he is an odd one with his little beige patch, but I'm displaying him here anyways in case I change my mind.
I left the black hooded boy out of this post because he got reserved quickly and has already been paid for.
Holding off on reserving the 2 black girls because someone may be reserving them. It's not clearly decided yet so I'm posting them in case they change their mind.
I also have 5 other girls still available from previous litters. 1 RBA hooded, 2 mismarked hooded agoutis, and 2 black berkshires, 1 with the kinked tail tip.
The red eyed baby is NOT beige.
Stay tuned while I figure out what strange variety Lily just threw at me❤
Silvermane litter!
Lillian x Gideon
We have 7 boys and 2 girls. Looks like only 1 red eye, assuming beige, the rest either black or blue.
Based on shades I'm assuming the 2 girls are both black. Full black tails indicating possible selfs 🤞
With the boys, I'm seeing 3 white tipped tails indicating berkshire, 2 possible selfs, and 2 mismarked hooded.
Quick educational post.
This is Boggling. When a rat grinds their teeth really fast, it appears as though it's eyes are popping out of it's head. This is completely normal and happens when your rat is comfortable and content 🥰
-They tend to stop when you try to video tape it, but I was sneaky enough to get this one!
Getting ready for some silvermane babies from Lily and Gideon! (Photo of Gideon at the end❤)
Sweet Peach Rattery had upgraded to hair salon! Lily is having a full silvermane litter in a few days and needs to raise some funds to feed her beans 😂
Maternity pics coming up shortly.
*I found out after inspecting the spot of hair that I must've dripped some icecream this morning 😅
Peach's second litter of 7 babies will be available in 6 weeks. Since the litter was about half the size of her previous litter, she will be a pet rat after her babies wean off.
The left 4 are boys, the right 4 are girls. The little fawn girl will be my next Peach and will hopefully continue giving me such adorable babies🤗
I will not be taking reservations on the girls at this time. The 4 boys will be available.
Just for fun post
This is one of my more successful photoshoots 💕 I got 5 good ones out of this one. Some of them I take 30 before giving up and finding the least blurry to use for updates
I got lucky here because she wanted to just hang out🥰
Oh yes, and meet future rex line momma Sage!
4 girls available. I've decided I'm going to wait for Peach's next litter to pull a fawn as a keeper rather than agouti, so both mismarked hooded agoutis are now available along with the 2 black berkshires
Pm for details 💕
☆All boys have been sold!
2 sweet boys still available.
Blaze capped black
Star variegated agouti
Pm for details 💕
Updated Availability!
3 girls and 3 boys left to reserve🥰
Description under each picture.
Able to go home mid January!
They're moving around so much, it's hard to get pictures, but their eyes have opened!!
☆=Update
Peach x Mario babies on the left and Oreo x Charlie babies on the right.
Peach and Oreo are sisters.
From Oreo:
●I will be keeping:
1 beige boy (there are 4 beige, the white ones)
1 blue girl (there are 2, the light grey ones).
●I will be selling: ☆ The black silvermane boy is still available, the rest have been reserved ☆
3 black (2 boys 1 girl)
1 blue (girl)
3 beige(2 girls, 1 boy)
(Chance for Silvermane because Oreo is Silvermane, but Charlie is not)
From Peach:
●I will be keeping:
1 Blazed Black variegated (Waluigi)
1 hooded agouti(will be naming her Toadette)
●I will be selling:
2 solid Agouti(boys) ☆1 reserved☆
2 solid Blacks(girls)
1 Blazed mismarked/bareback(boy)
1 Star marked Variegated blue Agouti(boy)
1 black solid lined hooded(girl) ☆reserved☆
3 mismarked hooded Agouti (2 boys 1 girl) ☆2 boys have been reserved☆
A few genetic facts because some people (including me) are interested in them.
The marking differences you see are the backgrounds of the fathers. The color differences are because Peach is Agouti (Aa) and Oreo is Black (aa) Both fathers were Black (aa). The reason 4 of Oreo's are white is because they have pink eyes which dilute their color to almost white. They will be a beige creamy white color🥰
Hoping to start light colored (blue and beige, potentially silvermane) lines with chances for both marked, hooded, and solid babies!
I also have a silvermane boy so I will have a silvermane targeted line with these colors as well (not with markings because markings would be unnoticeable on a silvermane)
Fun fact! Also a PSA.
Male rats don't have ni***es. If you're buying rats from a pet store, don't ask the employees, look for yourself! Most times people end up with accidental rat pregnancies because a store sold them "2 males" that ended up being a male and female!
Always check for ni***es 😁
They're getting bigger and acting more like rats!
Oreo had 4 boys and 6 girls! 1 of the girls is much smaller than the others. She's most likely just a runt rather than dwarf. I'll post an update on her in a few weeks when her ears grow in.
Oreo just had her first baby! Updating in a few hours when she's done!
2 boys with blaze markings!
(The obvious theme for Peach and Mario's children will be mario bros characters)
These 2 will be Wario and Waluigi!
The rest are yet to be named. I'm keeping Waluigi, Wario will be up for adoption in 2 months.
Once they grow a little more, I'll be choosing my 2 females.
There could be Blue, Black, Beige, or Agouti babies. I'll be able to tell more when they grow up.
The rest will then be up for adoption.
Send me a message if you'd like to reserve. Also remember Oreo is also having babies, so there will be more to choose from later.
Oreo and Charlie babies coming soon!
Now that Peach has has her pups, it's Oreos turn! Should be within the week 😁
5 girls and 7 boys!
Peach is currently giving birth! We're up to 9 pups! So far there are no issues🥰
Just a few more days! Look how big she's gotten😍
Miss Peach is already showing!
