A fun, but very busy night for our Explorers. Prior to the start of National Night out they learned a lot from Sgt. Tom Miller , Deputy / SRO Brandon Kendrick & Deputy Shane Leeth which are with the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team .

The Explorers were able to check out the Sheriff’s Office Armored Vehicle (bearcat) and work with some of the equipment.

During the event the Explorer’s assisted with parking along with prepping & serving food for the public .

Let’s hear it for McGruff the Crime Dog! He won silver in the Mascot Games ! He was very tired at the end, but we gave him a bowl of water and a pup ice cream cup and he went right back to work !

What’s next for the Explorers?

It’s the 2024 Hancock County Fair ! Get ready for the Donuts!

More information to follow..

Our Explorers have been working hard this year. They have been parking cars at Balloon Fest, Craft Shows and working at the Fair. So it was time for some fun! We had a great time at the Toledo MudHens game this afternoon. We are now looking forward to our fall activities.

Wow we have had an outpouring of support for our Explorers at the fair this year! We truly appreciate everyone who has stopped by and purchased donuts, coffee and pop. Having said that, given this is the last day of the fair we are running low on certain items. If you stop by and we are out of something you are looking for, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We just ask that you be kind. This is a fundraiser and we plan our supplies based on years past. It’s a good thing we are running low because that means we’ve had great support from all of you. So remember kindness. And a HUGE thank you for supporting your Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Explorers!”
