We saw potential where others saw constraints—by merging two closets and vanities, and utilizing that hidden space behind the bedroom door, we created a more functional and stylish layout. The result? A streamlined, impressive bathroom and closet that truly wows!

Today, we’re celebrating Brad—my incredible husband and partner in everything.

As we approach 23 years together this Sunday, I’m filled with gratitude for the amazing man he is. Brad is not only a loving father and devoted husband but also a wonderful business partner who brings so much heart to everything he does. Welcoming your little one to a serene and cozy nursery, designed with love and care. This calming space is perfect for cuddles, sweet dreams, and making precious memories.

Designing and being in this space brought back memories of early motherhood—the gentle moments of holding, rocking, and bonding with our little ones. As we completed this project, our eldest was transitioning to a new chapter, moving into a place of her own. We nurture them from their first breath and gradually release our hold, allowing them to grow into the amazing people they are meant to be.

This nursery holds a special place in my heart. Sometimes, I pause and sense a greater message within the design. It’s about more than just creating a room; it’s about crafting a space that evokes warmth, love, and a sense of belonging.

The Rosco project was a true labor of love, meticulously planned and skillfully executed with the invaluable help of Heitkamp Homes. This was an early project for , and together we all turned a tired, non-functional primary bathroom into a complete sanctuary, blending luxury with functionality.

From the dual arched openings to the custom soapstone backsplash and that *delightful* toilet room - we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Project Highlights:

✨ Vanity & Powder Room Nook: A dedicated space for getting ready, perfect for starting your day in style.

✨ Soapstone Dreams: Featuring a beautiful backsplash with custom detail, this centerpiece is as functional as it is striking.

✨ Vertical Undulated Tile Shower Walls: Adding texture and a touch of luxury to the expansive shower.

✨ Symmetry in Arched Openings: Elegantly framing each space, creating harmony and balance.

✨ Favorite Toilet Room: Turned into a standout spot with thoughtful design. Who knew a toilet room could be so charming?!

✨ Perfect Blend of Bright & Moody Tones: Enhanced by wallpaper, a textured wood ceiling, and carefully considered details.

✨ Can I bring diapers to donate to the event?
- YES, please! We are collecting diapers, as well as other baby items to stuff the Burlwick van with!
✨ What are the Burlwick Baby Bags?
- The baby bags are a way for you to donate if you don’t have time to make it to the event or to the store for a pack of diapers. The bags are filled with many baby essentials and each bag purchased will be donated back to WRC. They are $30 and can be bought online at burlwick.com/shop or during the event!
✨ How long are you collecting baby items?
- We will be collecting diapers and baby items through August 2nd

👋 Hi, everyone! I’m Kelsey Heitkamp, the founder and driving force behind Burlwick & Co. I’m thrilled to reintroduce myself to our new followers and share a bit of my journey with you.

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Ohio State University, I spent seven years working at an Architect/Engineer firm. It was a fantastic experience, but my passion for design led me to branch out on my own and start KHID (Kelsey Heitkamp Interior Design). In 2019, my vision expanded from commercial design to include residential projects, transforming KHID into what you now know as Burlwick & Co.

This journey has been driven by my nearly obsessive need to always move forward—a trait my husband, Brad, helps me reign in. Brad is not only my partner in life but also the owner of . Together, we bring a unique blend of design and construction expertise to every project, creating a truly one-of-a-kind experience for our clients. Brad builds the spaces I design, and our shared passion and complementary talents ensure that each project is exceptional.

When I’m not immersed in design and family life, I manage to sneak in a few moments for coffee, a 5-minute devotional, some Netflix, and an occasional bourbon and Diet. With four kids, spare time isn’t in my vocabulary, but every day is an adventure, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

At KHID, Burlwick & Co.'s commercial design division, we've dedicated over 11 years to enhancing spaces across Findlay & Hancock County. Our latest endeavor, The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation project, is a testament to our commitment to thoughtful and functional design.

We meticulously selected every detail—from tile and furnishings to flooring, lighting, and wall coverings. This project was a labor of love, involving numerous on-site visits, collaborations with architects, and detailed renderings to ensure every aspect harmonized seamlessly.

Our focus was all about making the most of the funds based on the boards approval, honoring donors, and creating a space that’s comfortable, approachable and perfect for day-to-day use or upscale events. We’re proud to have crafted a multi-functional environment that truly embodies the Foundation's values.

The rest that vacation brought last week allowed space in time for me and Brad to take in all the beauty surrounding us. The beauty of the life God has blessed us with, the captivating personalities of each of our kids, and the work of the first creator, our God, that always leaves us speechless.
We are all created in God’s image and I feel closest to him when I get to create beauty where it didn’t exist before. Each opportunity Brad and I get to design and build a new space for our clients reminds us that we are ultimately working for the Lord and restoring beauty to what used to be broken. We are forever grateful for what we have the privilege to do every day.

BALANCE.

A word that I wholeheartedly believe is key for both life and design.

Balancing tones, textures & function. Also, balancing rest, work & family.

This week I am filling up my cup with some of the things I love most.. My family, good conversations, sunshine and being thankful to call work a true passion.
