An outstanding experience - from the initial phone call for an appointment through checking in and being seen. All the staff without exception are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Dr. Blane dealt with my dental issue clearly taking all my needs into consideration. I felt so personally cared for. It was a such a pleasure to be treated at Flagstaff Downtown Dental. I cannot complement them highly enough!

I am a new patient of Dr. Blane and I could not be happier with the care I have received. The receptionists are efficient and very gracious at the same time. The hygienist, Bethany, is thorough and very gentle. Dr. Blane gave me a very truthful diagnostic and help me make a difficult decision. It is so important to be able to trust one’s doctor fully.

We LOVE coffee around here, but did you know that enjoying coffee without a proper oral health routine can cause enamel loss, staining, and even decay? Here are some tips to keep in mind when enjoying your morning cup of Joe!
1. Wait 30 minutes after finishing your coffee and then brush your teeth, this time gives the acids in your mouth time to neutralize, reducing enamel loss. It also keeps sugars from sitting on teeth all day, reducing chances of decay.
2. Using a low sugar milk or creamer in conjunction with an electric toothbrush can help reduce staining.
3. Everyone’s teeth are different! The best way to find what works best for you is to see your oral health profession for an open and honest conversation about your daily habits.

The most affirming, comfortable, and LGBTQ friendly dentistry I've ever been to. Everyone I have interacted with has been hugely welcoming and kind and has participated in ensuring correct pronouns are used for patients. One time someone instantly corrected themselves when they used the wrong pronouns after another staff member used the correct ones in the same conversation. This level of awareness and accountability was appreciated, and it was refreshing that an explicit conversation about pronouns didn't need to happen. I haven't experienced such a large staff committing to ensuring people are respected in this way.

Introducing our Back Office Manager and Lead Dental Assistant, Haley Gibson!! Haley grew up in El Centro, California and moved to Flagstaff in 2016! In 2021 she graduated from NAU with her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She has been at our office for 2 years and can answer any questions you have about your upcoming procedure. In her free time she likes to travel around to visit family and friends, she even spent 3 weeks this summer traveling Germany and Greece. In the winter if you’re lucky you might catch her snowboarding (mostly falling) at Snowbowl with her boyfriend! Haley loves to meet new people and be a part of everyone’s dental health journey! She is always reachable at our office, 928-774-1168!

Introducing our Office Manager Kendra Franchi!
Kendra was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and then moved to Flagstaff in 2003 to Perseus her education. She graduated from NAU with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Clinical Heath Psychology, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health. She has worked at our office for just about a year and has created great bonds with our patients and employees! Outside of the office she is committed to her family and community. She is involved with several local charities and stays active with her 2 young boys. If you challenge her to dinosaur trivia- She. Will. Win. She likes to live the active life and will likely recruit you to do barre3 classes or hike with her. Aside from the 2 dogs shown, Stitch and Drax, her family has a snake, 6 Madagascar hissing cockroaches, AND 10 fish. If there are any questions about our office she’s the to call! These guys are great- I hadn’t been to a dentist is about 10 years, and I needed a general exam to get referred to an oral surgeon because my wisdom tooth was impacted, and pushing on all of the teeth in my bottom jaw.First, they pushed my appointment time back (9:20a -> 10:20a) because I was unable to locate my wallet. Second, they able schedule a cleaning for me in addition to my general exam. Third, because I needed to get numbed for a deep cleaning they called the office of an oral surgeon to see if they could squeeze me in later that day (1:00p) to remove my wisdom tooth. AND IT ALL WORKED OUT because by 2:15p that same day my problem tooth was out, and I was already on my way back home. It was all thanks to these of these guys making it happen. Definitely a great experience for me.

We know it’s not Friday, but we saved the best for last!
Meet Dr. Bacon:
After graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, he and his wife moved to Flagstaff. Dr. Bacon founded our practice in 1987! It’s been 36 years that Dr. bacon has been practicing. In the last year he has, what we like to call, semi-retired. Post COVID he and his wife love to travel between Hawaii, Mexico, and New York. He spends many of his days enjoying the warm summers, playing golf, walking his dog Zihua, and drinking wine on our lawn. He loves to garden and is the person to thank for all the beautiful work done to our front walk way! Dr. Bacon is working very limited days with us, but you can still request him specifically for a consult of veneers or aesthetics crowns! He is the best of best, so get him before he is gone for good!

My first visit to Flagstaff Downtown Dental I was greeted by an amazing team; greeting, scheduling and business support for the office. I was fortunate to meet Dr. Stowell who was close by at the time. After meeting with the staff I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Stowell. I am certainly pleased to be a patient at Flagstaff Down Dental Clinic. By the way the office decor incorporates excellent layout and design featuring high ceilings. This office is inviting and exceptional. I am sure you will enjoy.
