The McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research at Seacoast is scheduled to open in early 2025. The Cancer Center will provide not only immediate access to advanced cancer care technology, but also enhanced communication, coordination, and multi-disciplinary treatment planning and delivery of care. This will all be possible in an environment dedicated to the physical and emotional health of cancer patients and their families.

The 2nd Annual Florence Freedom 5K was held on July 4, 2024, in downtown Florence. A portion of the funds raised will benefit The Guest House at McLeod, Butterfly Fund, HOPE Fund and Hero Fund.

As summer began, Carter White, a student at the McLeod Child Development Center (CDC), decided to make the most of her time by raising money for charity. After planning the costs of items, she shared her ideas with her friends at the CDC. Together, they chose to sell lollipops and handmade bracelets. After discussing their plans with the Center’s Director, Kimrey-Ann Haughn, they received permission to sell items during designated hours and donate their profits to McLeod Children’s Hospital.

The children set a goal of raising $125. They continued to make bracelets throughout the summer and far exceeded their original goal, raising more than $500.
