"OWL" Really Miss You!
Mixed bouquets arranged in these cute owl mugs from Amazon. They were really easy and each looks completely different as students had free range of what they used.

Side note- I will REALLY miss you! My students, teaching partners, colleagues, and friends, thank you for the BEST years of my life! Teaching my passion has been a dream! On to Texas FFA!

Mother's Day Community Outreach class was a success! Thank you to everyone that attended! A huge thank you to our Culinary department and TAFE for providing refreshments and childcare. This was our largest turnout ever!

KNOWLEDGE GROWS HERE!
Top Ten Dream Makers Banquet design this year was inspired by several sources- While student teaching, I watch my cooperating teacher create something similar and lately I have seen a few teachers try their hands and Floral Book designs. This was our take! We also made a Spray for the podium and small single page bouquets.

Knowledge Grows Here:
One old book (Ours happened to be my favorite- Of Mice and Men)
10-12 Water Rubes
Mixed small florals (Spray Roses, Spray Mums, Alstroemeria, Blue Thistle, Wax Flower, Gypsophila)
Greenery of choosing (Gunni Eucalyptus)
1. Paint books with chalk paint, seal with clear enamel
2. Make pockets in the pages by hot gluing a few together alternately
3. Distress books and pages with gold metallic paint
4. Fill water tubes with preservative water
5. Add small stems (2 or 3 each) to water tubes
6. Place tubes throughout the page pockets
7. Fill with greenery as needed

'Hearts in Bloom' bud vases for Valentine's Day. It was a fun day in the FHS Wildcat Wildflowers Floral Lab!
Brand new sets of Floral students created this design today as their first arrangement for spring 2023.

Why Floral Design. . .

I chose Floral Design because I fell in love with the art of floral arranging! I did my student teaching at La Vernia High School and at first, I was completely terrified of this class! I thought that there was no way I could ever do this! Fast forward to the end of the semester, at that point I just knew- This is where I belong! After teaching for two years at Stockdale High School, I came home to Floresville High School. Being a teacher in my hometown and being able to teach a class that I am truly passionate about is my absolute dream! Each day is a journey and a new adventure. My students inspire me every day in so many ways, I really have lost count. Their triumphs and misfortunes are why I do this. I want to be there through every win and every loss, because I needed that teacher when I was their age. I hope that I can inspire others to find their passion, try something new, and create! I LOVE teaching, I LOVE my students, I LOVE flowers, and at the end of the day I LOVE being the goofy, crazy, sassy Floral Design teacher that I am!
