Callie Manea Counseling
Helping you navigate the hard stuff - including betrayal, healing sexuality, relationships, dating again, and blended family challenges.
I love this beautiful example of post-traumatic growth. Post-traumatic growth is this beautiful thing where we take the hand we’ve been given, figure out what we want to do with it, and create a new path forward.
Now registering for August 6th start date: virtual betrayal trauma therapy group for anyone living in the state of Texas.

“Shame dies when stories are told in safe places.” - Ann Voskamp
I have a new virtual therapy group for betrayal trauma starting August 6th, on Tuesdays 1-2:30pm - the cost will be $50 a session, and it will be open to anyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. This group is for Texas residents only.
Our goal with group is to provide you a space where you can be real about the things only other people who have experienced betrayal can understand. A place where you can process through your experiences with support, and feel and share in the highs and lows of recovering from betrayal trauma. A place to help grow your support network of people to reach out to.
You will also learn tools for coping, resources for continued healing, and celebrate your wins in and out of the betrayal trauma world.
Message me for inquiries, questions, concerns.
You deserve to have the support you need. ~ Callie

MONTHLY INVITE: I’ve got space in one of my favorite support groups, "DREAMGIRLS: Designing Our New Lives.” It’s an ongoing, open-topic support group exclusively for survivors of betrayal-related separation and divorce.
Two group sessions each week:
Tuesday 1–2:30pm ET
Thursday 8–9:30pm ET
The monthly cost is $200 per month. However, because I know many women who need this group CAN'T afford the full group fees, I’m honored to offer a "pay what you can" option for those who could not participate otherwise.

The broken record of “they’re just not working on their healing” or “they’re such an angry person” or “they aren’t moving on with their life”.
Anger is a normal response to injustice. Finding places and people that see what you see, validate your reality, and support you in getting the help you need - is everything.
Recharging this week, won’t last long without it🔋
We love a work in progress.
I’m working on it ❤️

Parts work is such a helpful part of my practice. This is a great example of what it looks like in action!
Another good reminder!
Making other people proud of us… or just happy with us. It feels good.
And it will forever be impossible to please all the people without sacrificing yourself.
You KNOW what’s best for you and your family. Trust yourself.
If others don’t like it, those are their own emotions and experiences that they also get the opportunity to work through.
You aren’t responsible for the reactions of others.
Holding and releasing 💚

Meegwetch, uncle Gabor Maté, for your words 🌿
To heal a large betrayal or hurt, “I’m sorry” is only a good first step. Sometimes a good apology is a long-distance run—one that requires us to sit in the hot seat and listen with an open heart to the anger and pain of the wounded party on more than one occasion.
If you have left an abusive relationship and need support in dealing with abuse post-separation (particularly when you share children), this is helpful information.
What Is Post Separation Abuse? Abuse Cycle Wheel — One Mom's Battle Post-separation abuse does not just affect the victim, it has both immediate and long-lasting effects on children resulting in high adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
Beautiful words about the journey from hurt to wholeness. Especially in the throes of a broken heart, it is so easy to crave explanation from the one who hurt us. We want "closure." But there's something inherently off about seeking the comfort of answers from the very same one who hurt us.
I often ask these questions to clients or students who are in this spot:
- “On what basis would you trust what you hear from him/her?"
- “What keeps you from authoring your own story of this relationship~ beginning, middle, end?"
- “Why would you privilege his/her narrative above your own?"
An aspect of heartbreak is the loss of your internal compass. Central to your healing is your reclamation of that very same compass... it is waiting for you.
Thank you, ❤️
A new virtual group is in the works - for couples who are navigating life as a blended family.
This group will be open virtually to any couples in Texas, starting in late September/Early October.

Yes!
Ritual is really powerful stuff. What's your favorite ritual?
Ritual doesn't have to be religious, weird, or woo-woo. Think of ritual as a way to give your brain sensory (sight, touch, sound, smell, etc) symbols of the shift you want to make. Ritual can involve prayer, incense, and candles, but ritual can also be opening all the windows, stripping down, and renewing your space with a deep clean while blasting !
Ritual is an ancient practice that got lost- even in religious contexts- through the enlightenment. Exploding research around mindfulness and neurobiology, though, is reigniting awareness of the importance of ritual.
Fear is an emotion. It is also an excellent barometer if we can sit with it, question it, stop avoiding it and letting it control us, to find out what's really beneath it.
Fear doesn't care what you do with it or if you even listen to it. It's like the unwanted guest who shows up and refuses to leave, that eats your food, drinks your wine, is loud, obnoxious, and ever-so- passive-aggressive, and a master gaslighter.
Until you find the courage and the wherewithal to remove them from your home and life, you are stuck and miserable.
Fear can be a great passenger when you get beneath the noise, it is using to distract you, but it should never be the emotion in the driver's seat.
You will only go in circles.
It takes courage to face our fears, but doing so can lead to growth and a more fulfilling life. We need to take control of our lives and not let fear be the driver. It's only when we overcome fear and remove its hold on us that we can truly move forward and achieve our goals.
Sometimes pressing pause is the best next step.
When there’s a sense of urgency tied to anything important in your life, slow down. Ask yourself - what would happen if I let go a little bit and let this unfold on a timeline out of my control? What is the rush? Is there a fear or a wound driving me? Am I operating out of fear, or out of trust?
Deep breaths. Nature has her own timelines, and if we live in accordance to this truth, all that's left is surrender.
We may be operating out of fear when we're in a hurry for no reason, when we're feeling a sense of urgency tied to any important thing in our life - a relationship, an accomplishment, a goal.
The medicine is in slowing down and letting go of control so the real magic can unfold.
If you have to force something, or feel that it's slipping away unless you anxiously grasp it or cling tightly, consider that it isn't meant to be yours.
You will never truly be alone, you are deeply loved and held by spirit and the elements.
May you find safety in your surroundings and within your own heart today friend.
