Scratches Got You Down? Here's How to Fix Them!

Hardwood floors are beautiful, but they can also be susceptible to scratches. Fear not! There are several ways to fix those pesky scratches and keep your floors looking their best.

Here are a few options to consider, depending on the severity of the scratch:

For minor scratches: A simple paste of baking soda and olive oil can sometimes buff out light scratches. Apply the paste, let it sit for a few minutes, then buff with a soft cloth.
For medium scratches: Walnut oil can sometimes be effective for medium scratches. Rub the oil into the scratch with a soft cloth, then buff away any excess.
For deeper scratches: Wood filler may be required. Be sure to choose a filler that matches the color of your floor as closely as possible. Apply the filler according to the manufacturer's instructions, then sand smooth and stain if necessary.
Here are some additional tips:

Always test any solution on an inconspicuous area before applying it to the scratch.
Be sure to clean the area around the scratch before applying any treatment.
Work in a well-ventilated area.
With a little effort, you can easily fix those scratches and keep your hardwood floors looking beautiful for years to come!
