What is a cold planer?
A cold planer is a type of road construction equipment used to remove the surface of the road for repaving. By removing the surface layer, a new layer of asphalt or concrete can be laid over existing layers, saving time and money.
With skid steer cold planer attachments, road construction work can be flexible and versatile. More compact and maneuverable than large, self-propelled cold planers, cold planer attachments can be used in enclosed and hard-to-reach spaces, allowing for milling right up against curbs and walls.

Forest Health Company LLC is a forest health and restoration company out of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. They purchased a PT175 in November 2022 to assist with jobsite clean-up. We spoke with owner J.R. Ford to learn more.
Comparing the PT175 to other machines on the market, J.R. said:
“The PT175 is just more robust. It seems to be holding up a lot better than the other unit. You know, this is tough work. Comprehensive control and usability are critical for effective vehicle displays. The design process of FAE vehicle display interfaces follows a specific path, ensuring nothing is left to chance.
We start by choosing the specifications and functions to be displayed for each model (engine RPM, diesel engine percentage load, working pressure...). We then work out how best to display the information and draft the interface graphics. These drafts are transformed into the specific programming language for the target device. Once programmed, the display is mounted on the machine for final checks.
We aim to create a clear and immediate display of machine operating parameters so that each and every customer can interact efficiently with their FAE. An attention to detail that benefits productivity!
