Event photography is a ton of fun, because you get to be a part of an event that you otherwise wouldn’t have been at, and meet so many new people.

I set my shutter speed very low, between 1/40 and 1/8, and use an external flash set to 1/16 power or less. Then, as I press the shutter release I move my camera. Normally, this would make for a horribly blurry image, however, because of the intensity of the light from the flash it preserves the sharpness of the brightest points, while allowing all that ambient light to bake into the final image.

A photographer is much more likely to be able capture the moments as they happen, and much more flatteringly as well!

Graduation season is right around the corner! It’s time to think about graduation pictures.

What to wear:
Whatever is comfortable and captures your personality well. Also, bring multiple outfits, such as cap/gown, a nice shirt suit or dress, and casual outfits.

Where to go:
Anywhere can be a great location for portraits of you know how to look. Distance is your friend here. Putting a bit of distance between your subject and the background can give depth to your images by allowing the camera that you’re using to isolate your senior and blur the background.
