Gerber Farm
Local family growing our food, homesteading on our 3/4 acre. Loving life on day at a time.
I have two 2 new flavors available.
Strawberry Vanilla and Strawberry Balsamic.
Restock of apricot Jalapeño, Peach Jalapeños and Strawberry Jalapeño.
Also Strawberry syrup. 🙂.
Ended up with 6 pints. 🙂.
FYI. Joey Dias has been hacked.
Still getting jalapeño’s from the garden :)
Limited quantities.
Had a great weekend with Christiana Bryan and the boys. I miss them already.
He’s making good progress
Needed to do a little shuffling of pantry items.
I’m very lucky to have a full closet in my laundry room and decided it’s going to be my full canning pantry. The garage gets too hot to hold my food.
So I moved out my appliances- don’t judge I’m a gadget girl- to the garage shelves.
My honey has a new project. He’s been needing a new shed for years 🙂.
Tome to label up my jams :)
Can you guess what I jammed tonight?
That’s a wrap with the peaches.
After work I pitted and removed the skin on 20 lbs.
Canned 14 QTs of beautiful peaches.
Canned the left over syrup and now I’m making the scrap syrup
Tomorrow night I might make this peach bbq sauce and design some cute labels :)
What’s the point of canning a bunch of peaches if you don’t make a peach cobbler
So far I’ve finished 10 qts and 1 pint of tomato sauce. 50 of 52 QTs goal.
I’ve done 19 pints and 5 -1/2 pints of pizza sauce.
My first 9 lbs of peaches are canning. Just in simple syrup for cobbler.
I got to tag along with Chris today to a job in Marysville.
Which means we stopped to get peaches. I’ve been wanting to can peaches for months. Got a great deal 75lbs. Just $30!!!
I’ll be making peach jam, peach jalapeño jam, canned peaches, peach scrap jelly, peach syrup and peach cobbler this weekend.
Then we drove over to woodland where I scored 34 lbs of tomatoes for free!!!
Tonight I make 15 pint jars of pizza sauce with 12 lbs of tomatoes.
I’ve got 21 lbs of tomatoes in the roasters that I will blend up and can in the morning. Hoping to get my last 12 qts of my goal of 52qts of tomato sauce.
We moved into our house 23 years ago tomorrow and brought with us our fig tree.
We planted it at the far end of one of the corners and watched it grow but every year the rats would get the figs before we could get them.
But not this year. I picked 4 lbs that were ready and made fig jam.
Used my new toy that my mother in law bought me with Christmas $$$. An electric water canner is a game changer.
It was so much easier and safer.
8.5 pint jars.
Farm update. 8/11/24
Doctors appt Thursday and I got 2 vaccines. Shingles and Tetanus. It put me down Friday and half of Saturday. Had the worst headache and no energy. But I was able to putter around a little bit Saturday afternoon.
Tomatoes: I canned 14 pints of garden sauce. Tomatoes are slowing down but I might try and plant a few more romas.
I scored a great price on some raspberries so I made raspberries jam. 33 pints to be exact.
Then I needed to use up jalapeños so I made strawberry jalapeños jam. Too spicy for me but Chris loved it.
We picked a few corn tonight. Little but good.
Cleared out the herb garden. Getting ready to plant for fall and might use it for my garlic
First watermelon Yummy
Free pallets.
My chaos garden treasures:)
Flowers make me happy.
Busy day.
Canned 9 more qts of garden sauce. Now have 30 of 52 🙂.
Pickled more pickles and dehydrating squash
Checked on my worm farm. All is still good.

Christiana Bryan
Started a worm farm 🙂. Why not.
My girl. Living her best life at a work function in Sydney Australia
Only had time to can 1 batch of tomatoes but I got 9 qts from the garden this week.
Roasting overnight is a game changer.
21 of 52 qts ✔️
My zinnias and cosmos are taller than me. What is in this soil? The sunflowers are 14 ft tall
About once a year my craft room become the catch all. I get so busy doing other things I put it off and then it just blows up.
As much as I love to organize, I too can become overwhelmed and just let things go. I’m human.
I have a few projects that need my room so yesterday was buckled down and got everything on the floor out, then ourged then cleaned and reorganized again.
At least now I can get to things to get my projects done.
