FGCS Bus 15 broke down at pick up time today. The bus just got underway, so students will be about 30 minutes late arriving at their stop.

Tomorrow, May 1st, the Festival of the Arts presented by the Forest Grove Public Arts Commission and Adelante Farmers Market, kicks off all around town.

The free festival will feature a vibrant array of exhibits, live performances, and participatory activities celebrating 'the arts' in their many forms; music, film, dance, theater, literary arts, fine arts, and crafts.

At the library, we invite you to join us for an art show featuring over 200 pieces of art from Forest Grove Community School students, and to come and chat with some local authors!

FGCS bus route 18, which serves Cornelius and parts of Forest Grove, is running 20-25 minutes late today (Weds., 1/31).

UPDATE: The District has updated plans and schools will be closed again today (Friday) because of icy roads.

The Superintendent just announced that the plan is for schools to
open on time tomorrow (Fri., Jan. 19). Buses will run on snow routes. For FGCS, this affects Route 27 students who live in Forest Gale Heights; the bus will pick up students at the Gales Creek Road entrance to the neighborhood. Please plan to check messages early in the morning in case the District's plan changes.

Please allow extra time to get to school if you walk or drive. The snow is melting but many street parking spots are still blocked by snow and some side streets and sidewalks are still hazardous. We have plowed, shoveled and ice-melted extensively on campus but there may still be slippery spots, so please exercise caution as you arrive.

Schools are closed again tomorrow (Thurs., Jan. 18).

FGCS will dismiss at 12:10 p.m. today (Fri., 1/12). We will be closed Monday (1/15) in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

The Superintendent just announced that all schools in the District will close 3 hours early tomorrow (Fri., Jan. 12) because of expected snow. Please check message early tomorrow morning in case there is any change in this plan.

With a three-hour early release, dismissal at FGCS will be 12:10 p.m. If your child is picked up in person, please make a plan to pick them up promptly at 12:10 p.m. Staff will also need to head home as soon as possible after dismissal.

Students who ride the bus will go home on their usual routes. Drop off times will be approximately 3 hours earlier than usual. If your student rides Bus 15 and you live in Forest Gale Heights, please check messages and news alerts in case Bus 15 is placed on a snow route. If that occurs, the bus will drop off all Forest Gale Heights residence at the entrance to the neighborhood on Gales Creek Road.
