Blossoms of candy canes beneath the moon.

A sweet enchantment begins to unfold.
Peppermint shoots from the earth's embrace,
Twirling and swirling with a gentle grace.
Lollipops bloom in a rainbow of hues,
In this candy cane garden, dreams come true.

Hold on to your gardening gloves because our Elf decided to lend a “helping” hand with lawn maintenance and took the wheel of one of our park's lawnmowers for a spin! Little did Elfie know, his mini-me was out enjoying the sunshine, blissfully unaware of the red giant heading his way! Our parks team swooped in for an emergency save, ensuring that both Elfie and his mini-me had a narrow escape from becoming the world’s tiniest lawnmower obstacle course. Let’s keep the festive fun rolling (safely)! # ElfOnTheLawn

Splash-tastic elf adventures continue at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center. Our elf has plunged into the holidays and things are getting aqua-awesome! Our mischievous elf has become a diving sensation, or at least he tried as his diving board daredevilry did not pan out as planned. Then, after sneaking up on the lifeguard stand, taking his responsibility very seriously, he was quickly removed as his certification was lapsed. Safety first, even for elves!

Elf Hunt Week 1- Clue 1!
Where is our elf? Submit your guess to [email protected] by Sunday at 12pm for a chance to win a Parks and Rec themed nifty gifty. The winner will be notified by Monday, Dec. 11.
In the heart of the town where laughter resounds,
A park blooms, a haven where joy knows no bounds.
Generosity planted by a caring hand,
A doctor's gift, a vision so grand.
Guess who decided to trade the North Pole for a day at Forest Grove Fire & Rescue? He couldn’t resist trying on a firefighter uniform and pitching in. Then he was spotted riding on the back of the firetruck, keeping a keen eye out for any signs of holiday mishaps. A safety inspection, elf style! Stay tuned for more elfish escapades.
Our Parks & Rec team had a great morning doing crafts at the Library today! There was a huge turnout and we always enjoy working with the Police Department and Library staff.
We’ve had some reports of Elf on the Shelf mischief, and our Forest Grove Police is on the case! After researching, they’ve shared some pro-tips on catching the elusive elf in action.
❄️ Set up a Cover Observation Post – Find a cozy spot to keep an eye on your elf without being detected. Camouflage might come in handy – elves are crafty!
⛄️ Create a Distraction – Elves are easily distracted by shiny things! Set up a small pile of candy canes, glazed donuts, or glitter to lure your elf into the open.
🍩 Elf Decoy – Consider creating a decoy. Maybe make some cozy cocoa and cookies to lure him in. This might require some advanced wily skills, but the payoff will be worth it.
Our elf needed a mischief-making refresher so to the Forest Grove City Library he went! His library antics included (but not limited to), "borrowing" patron's book holds, getting stuck in the book drop, and pulling books off shelves while "surfing" on a book cart.
Guess who sashayed into the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center for some BINGO? He consulted his lucky charms and made some new friends while playing his first game. Overly excited (WAY too much sugar) he inadvertently (and enthusiastically) sprang to his feet and declared victory. Alas, no bingo was had that day.
Round and round we go, where our elf stops nobody knows! He stopped at Hazel Sills Park and experienced physics at work. Don't try this at home kids.
This Saturday, December 2, is the annual Holiday in the Grove event! Visit the Forest Grove Police and your Parks and Rec team at the Forest Grove City Library from 10 a.m. to 12:30. Strange, we received this photo.......where in the world is our elf? BTW, awesome socks!🧦
Monday mornings are hard, especially if you're our HR Manager. She caught the shenanigans making Elf pretending to be the Forest Grove City Manager. After a stern talking too, he was on his way. Where do you think he'll pop up next?
Trimmin' the tree.
ELF SIGHTING! We caught him "singing in the rain" on light poles, stealing the Schmizza bike, and reviewing the finer points of mischief-making with a colleague.
Our elf is here, and plans to stay til' Christmas Day! Ok, so rhyming isn't our strongest skill, but we're trying. Our Elf is creating mischief wherever he goes. His first stop was Rogers Park, where he promptly removed all the doggie doo doo 💩bags, broke a merry-go-round, and wreaked havoc during a Pickleball game. Attempts were made to catch the Elf, but he quickly escaped to his next adventure!
It's coming.......our mischief-making fun begins.
Last week one of our own was Principal for a Day at Dilley Elementary! Thank you Forest Grove School District for inviting Cody to participate.
