Yesterday, our students in Preschool learned all about bugs and insects. They investigated closely by using their magnifying glasses and talked with their surrounding peers about what they were seeing!

During our students science and sensory small group time we made homemade playdough by measuring out all of our ingredients and mixing them all together! We have attached the recipe below if you would like to do this fun activity with your kiddos!
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
gel food coloring of your choice
Instructions
1) In a medium bowl, combine the flour and cornstarch. Mix well.
2) In a small bowl or medium cup, combine the water, gel food coloring, and oil. Mix well
3) Add the colored water to the dough and stir until it begins to form a ball of dough. Turn out the dough with all the remaining flour onto a clean hard surface. Knead well until smooth.
4) Store in an airtight container when not in use.

During small group, our students in Bridge were starting to learn all about patterns! Today, they made their own ABC sequenced pattern using different colored popsicle sticks.
Children experience all the same emotions as adults, but they aren’t yet equipped with the tools to handle those feelings. The first step toward understanding their big feelings is helping them learn how to recognize and name their emotions. At The Goddard School - Forney we like asking open-ended questions like “What is something that makes you happy or sad?” or “Can you show me what face you make when you are happy, sad or angry?” This gives children the opportunity to share their emotions and show what they know about them. This exercise had Goddard students using emojis to identify each emotion in honor of World Emoji Day. 😊😕😆😥😴 Give it a try with your little one!
