With permission from Celvin Orr’s family, I am sharing the following Memorial Service plans with you:

Memorial services for Celvin Christopher Orr will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home & A Crematory on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 am (Central time). For those who wish to attend the memorial service, the address is 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. If you are unable to attend the memorial service, but want to send flowers, a card, or simply offer words of sympathy in memory of Celvin, please visit Golden Gate Funeral Home "A" Crematory's website and locate Celvin's obituary for instructions.

Medical Jets Executive staff had the honor of meeting and visiting with Celvin’s Father, Larry Orr, this week which was an absolute privilege. Mr. Orr shared stories of how much Celvin loved working at Medical Jets and multiple stories of his love for every one of his coworkers. Celvin also had a huge passion working with special needs children. He was a Special Needs Children Swim Instructor and touched many lives throughout his short 24 years on this earth. To quote Mr. Orr, “God needed an EMT / Special Needs Swim Instructor in Heaven, and he called Celvin home.” We also learned that it was always his wishes to be an organ donor, further exemplifying his love for others. Through the donation and transplantation process, they were able to harvest his skin, eyes, heart, kidneys, as well as multiple long bones with hope of additional organs, which will continue to save and heal many lives in the very near future. Celvin’s legacy will live on for years to come.

All Emergency Service Personnel wishing to attend the ceremony are welcome. There will be a special sitting area for you, however there will not be a procession.

Please continue to keep the Orr family as well as our Medical Jets family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time. We will all miss our friend and our colleague but know that God’s plan is far greater than we can comprehend.

My Sincerest Condolences,

Chief Thomas

It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that we're regretfully informing you of the passing of one of our own colleagues and friend, Celvin Orr. Celvin unexpectedly passed while off duty taking us all by shock and surprise.

We will all miss him more than words can express. He was not just our co-worker but our good friend as well. He had a contagious smile and would always go the extra mile to make a difference while at Medical Jets as both a friend and colleague.

We ask that you please keep his family, friends, and our Medical Jets staff in your prayers through this very difficult and heartbreaking time.

Please see Press Release below.

Medical Jets Emergency Medical Services was requested to provide mutual aid for a reported 3 story independent senior living facility that was on fire with residents inside.

Medical Jets responded with 2 ambulances as well as a Chief and Deputy Chief working closely with Crandall Fire Department, Seagoville Fire Department and Kaufman County Emergency 🆘 Management. Medical Jets assumed Medical Command and set up 2 triage and 1 staging sector while assigning a 3rd Medical Jets ambulance to respond to the incident as well as a Fleet Manager to assist in the movement of a Red Cross shelter supply trailer.

41 residents were triaged and assessed and their emergency medications were secured from within the facility. Transportation needs were evaluated and all were moved to a secure shelter or close by family including 1 by ambulance. 0 required transport to a hospital or suffered a serious medical emergency.

Crandall Fire did an outstanding job at limiting property damage and protecting those that live within the facility.

It was an excellent collaborative effort with a great outcome for all.

UPDATE: The all clear to enter the property has been given by the Kaufman County Fire Marshall’s Office. Residents may return to occupy their apartments. The elevator remains out of service so for those who need to go upstairs, assistance may be needed.
