Dyllan just graduated from Cheeks Beauty Academy, and has been officially licensed for two months. She has been learning hands-on by assisting our salon owner Dre ().
⠀
We want to give Dyllan the best opportunity for success and to support her while she builds a clientele and gains experience to become the best hairstylist she can be.
⠀
To help her achieve her goals of becoming confident in herself and gaining experience, we are asking for referrals of guests who would be willing to give her a chance to grow.

To start, Dyllan will be offering one length buzz cuts, blow outs, and conditioning treatments at the Jr. Stylists price point and will only be accepting 1-2 guests a day to start.

Friday afternoon, join us in Old Town for a Transgender Day of Visibility peaceful demonstration.

There are no plans on anything “day of rage” or “day of rampage” in our area from the lgbtqia community. We have confirmed with multiple area law enforcement agencies that those stories have zero actual reports backing them and it appears to have been started based on the (understandable) anxieties of a local, private school administrator.

I encourage that administrator to reach out to NoCoSafeSpace any time there’s a concern for public protest that may affect them, and to open dialog in the interim so we can work together to ensure all of our communities remain safe.

To our lgbtqia Christian (and Jewish, Muslim) families, please know you are loved and your intersections between queerness and faith are valuable and valid every day.

Transfolks, non-binary, and other lgbtqia folks help demonstrate by showing up to our die-in with your flags of choice. Headstones can be made on-site or at home beforehand.

It takes a special kind of person to be a business owner and Dre is one of those people. Dre opened up her salon on October 13, 2008 at the young age of 23. With little to no business experience, Dre had a dream and she went for it. Little did she know what was in store for her.
⠀
Entrepreneurship isn't for the faint of heart and Dre has put her heart and soul into this business. Dre had already been a licensed cosmetologist for some time before opening the salon, but had no experience in what to expect when opening a business.
⠀
Family is always first for Dre. Her kids, dog, cat, chickens, and life partner mean the world to her. Even with the demands of owning a business, Dre makes sure to put her family first.
⠀
Not only does Dre put her family first, but she also puts her community first. She makes sure that her salon is constantly giving back and she is a servant leader to other small businesses within the community. She is unapologetic for giving back and serving others.
