Fort Dodge Community School Nurses
Information sent out from any of the nurses in the Fort Dodge School district
With all the cold weather we are having, please be sure to dress your student's appropriately for school. Coat, hats, and gloves are a must! Also, be on the lookout for signs and symptoms of frostbite. Please read through the following slides on how to effectively prevent, identify, and treat frostbite.
With the weather growing colder, please remember to dress you children in warm clothing! It's time to start bringing jackets and hats and gloves to school again!
Thank you to Tammy Alstott and the Booster club for ordering us these Amazing shirts! So appreciative of all the work you do, and we cannot wait to take care of our students while sporting our new gear!!
Parents, we are trying to make our schools a safer place for all students and staff. With that being said, we are implementing some new guidelines for outside food that is being brought into the classrooms. Please read the attached letter, and feel free to reach out to your school's school nurse if you have any questions.
The first few days of school are going to be HOT! Please send a water bottle to school with your student, and encourage them to drink LOTS of water! Thank you!
Parents, if you child will be taking medication this year, please stop in and see your school nurse during welcome back conferences!! If you can, please bring your school medication bottle (with the original prescription label). We will have you fill out medication paperwork while you are there. Makes the first day of school a little less stressful! Thanks!
With classes starting soon, here is a link to the school's guidelines on sending your child to school! Please reach out to your school nurse if you have any questions!

Feelhaver and Dumcombe staff rose to the challenge and donated bikes of their own!
Fort Dodge Community School nurses decided to get together and donate bikes to Bikes for Tikes. A challenge was issued to the schools for them to donate as well!
We don't want to brag, but the school nurses killed it!
