This girl demonstrated our character trait of the month Respect, when she picked up the playground after school one day with her mom!!!! Nurse Juli saw their efforts and recognized her today with a Respect certificate and a trip to the prize box!!!

Dodgers - We want to remind fans who plan to support our team tonight of the expectations at Dodger Stadium:
✔All kindergarten through 6th grade students must be accompanied by an adult to enter the stadium
✔5th and 6th grade students are required to sit in the west stands with an adult
✔7th and 8th grade students will be allowed to sit in the designated section labeled "Middle School" in the east stands
✔7th and 8th grade students will only be allowed to leave the middle school section at the end of each quarter & halftime. Students will not be allowed to go to the west side during halftime. This includes restroom and concessions.
✔7th and 8th grade families - check your email or IC inbox for specific information on how students can access their seats at Dodger Stadium.
✔All High School students are required to sit in the designated area located in the
Northwest corner of the bleachers.
All fans are expected to be kind, be responsible, be respectful and be safe.
Dodger pride is a deep tradition and following these expectations will allow everyone to have a positive and memorable Dodger Stadium experience. We hope to see you cheering on the Dodgers!

Students in Mr. Utley’s Outdoor Recreation class took to the water last week for a kayaking experience! 🚣♂️ What an amazing way to explore the great outdoors and build new skills.
Last night, we had the honor of recognizing Stu Cochrane for his incredible 28 years of service on the FDCSD School Board, with 19 of those years as Board President.
In a special moment, Mayor Bemrich surprised Stu by presenting a proclamation in recognition of his service and unwavering commitment to FDCSD.
Stu has been a dedicated advocate for our students, staff, and community, investing countless hours to support and strengthen our district. His leadership, relationship-building, and commitment to facilitating positive change have made a lasting impact on all of us.

FDCSD will host a reception for Stu at Central Office Monday, September 9, from 4:30 - 6. This is a come and go event, and light refreshments will be provided

Fort Dodge Community School District is excited to announce that YouScience® Brightpath will be available to all students in grades 7 -12 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Seventh and ninth grade students will participate in aptitude testing designed to help them gain deeper insights into their strengths and interests.

At Duncombe Elementary School, Mrs. Grossnickle’s 3rd grade class kicked off the year with some serious goal-setting! 🌟 Each student wrote down their big goal for the year on a gold star. At the end of the first week, they came together to create a group masterpiece—a class version of Starry Night! 🎨🌌
Mrs. Grossnickle reminded her students that just like their art project, they’ll work together all year to help each other shine and achieve those goals.

Socratic seminar in second grade…say that 3 times fast 😉 Ms. Morton’s class participated in a discussion protocol where students discussed how they thought reading changed the animals lives in “Wild About Books” that they read together. Tickets at the gate will need to be purchased with a card (Credit/Debit). Fans are encouraged to buy ahead of time to avoid lines. If cash is the only option at the gate, cost will be $8 for ALL cash tickets, including student.
Parking/Entrance: All fans are required to park in front of the field house. Fans may
walk through the atrium to the field house to the entrance of the stadium or they are able to follow the sidewalk around the field house to the stadium entrance. NO Parking will be allowed behind the school by the stadium for fans. EXCEPTION - There will be some handicap parking close to the stadium entrance.
