We are asking for donations to help the flood victims in immediate need in Spencer, Iowa.

The items in need are the following:

Newborn diapers, towels, first aid kits, wet wipes, over the counter medications (ie. Tums, Tylenol), shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, razors, contact solution, bug spray, heavy duty trash bags, empty coolers, and underwear for all ages and sizes.

John T Kastendieck will be taking donations to Spencer on Friday this week. So, we are asking that all donations be brought to the church entryway no later than 5pm on Thursday. The front doors will be open daily 7:30am-5:00pm.

There may be more long term help needed. However, we are trying to address the immediate needs at this time.

Anyone who would like to volunteer and walk with us in the Frontier Days parade!

Please arrive at Central Avenue (north side of street) between South 18th street and south 19th street by 8:30 am. We are #48. See map below.

You may wear a long or short sleeved black shirt and we will be wearing the pink vbs/camp shirts over the top.

Instructions and prayer will be at 8:45 am. Judging will take place at 9:00 am.

Please let us know if you need a ride back from the city square at the end of the parade.

The Sunday school kids have been learning about service the past few weeks; serving God first helps us to serve others, the five rings of service, Jesus washing the disciples feet.

For our service event, Sunday May 5th we will be serving ICE CREAM SUNDAES in between the 8 and 1030 service in the fellowship hall.

We had a great sized group this past Sunday! 17 kids! We have been learning the past three weeks how God saves us in some pretty sticky situations if we trust in the one true God-Daniel in the lions den, Jonah and the whale, the fiery furnace. The kids helped put together this giant Jonah puzzle!

We will be going in to our Easter lessons the next three weeks!

ATTENTION: January 28th from 11:30am-2pm in the Fellowship Hall at St Paul Lutheran Church & School, a benefit meal and offering for Ben Bethke will be held.

After over 15 years of suffering ailments and misdiagnosis, Ben has started treatments in Minnesota for mold toxicity and Lyme disease. Unfortunately, Ben’s treatments are not covered by insurance and the cost has been quite significant.

Please consider coming that day to the benefit meal. A door offering after each of the services will be collected for those who want to participate but can’t attend the meal.

Tonight (Saturday 01/28/2023), the 6pm worship service has been canceled due to weather. With the winter storm warning in effect until 9pm and the increase winds, we felt it would be wise to cancel the service. Tomorrow’s 8am and 10:30am services are still on as planned.
