As the producer and director of Tears of Joie, I am pleased to share the ongoing journey of the character Joie within the RetroCirq Universe. Originally created eight years ago during my time at university, Joie was introduced to audiences in the thesis film *Tears of Joi*. At that time, the character's name was spelled "Joi." However, as we continue to develop and expand our content, we have made the decision to update the name to "Joie."

This change was not made lightly but was necessary to avoid unintended associations with an acronym that does not align with the values or vision of our work. The character Joie is central to the stories we want to tell, and this update ensures that her legacy remains intact and true to the spirit in which she was originally conceived.

Under the banner of RETROcirq Media, LLC, based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Joie will continue to play a vital role in the evolving RetroCirq Universe. Samantha Mindas will bring Joie to life, alongside her portrayals of other characters like Jessi D and Rhodie. As we move forward, Joie will feature prominently in our content, allowing us to explore new storytelling possibilities while staying connected to the roots of our original film.

This evolution is a reflection of our commitment to delivering engaging, high-quality content that resonates with our audience. I am excited about what lies ahead for Joie and the entire RetroCirq Universe, and I am grateful for the continued support from our viewers as we embark on this next chapter.

An exception to the rule.

Yard Lion Studios has always stayed away from politics. However, we will make an exception.

Yesterday’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade is a wake up call for everyone who take everything for granted. Whether you’re pro choice or pro life, these times call for understanding and respecting someone’s actions and choices.

We must learn to appreciate the freedoms that this country is built on: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Declaring My independence….as a Filmmaker/Content Creator

Last night’s “Academy” Awards, if I can call it that, was the straw that broke the camels back.
Someone getting knocked out due to a bad joke and still winning Best Actor and pretty much losing it made me lose faith in Hollywood and the system that surrounds it.

Filmmaking in general has always been about telling stories. Stories that are never about winning accolades from critics and industry members; Stories that compel and use our imaginations and ideas that are in fact a God-given talent.

I cannot support a system that is always about the numbers and never about the characters and the stories. I cannot watch award shows that clearly look for the next big buzz on social media and on mainstream television. And most of all, I cannot expect myself to go into the industry and have myself sell my soul for any award, be it an Oscar, Tony, Golden Globe, or even an Emmy.

If I have to self-finance the projects that you see on YouTube, so be it. If I have to build a brand with integrity and honesty, then so be it. As long as it's pure. As long as it is hard-working, and most of all, as long as I am able to get a good return on investment on making great products, be it a short, feature, or original web series, then so be it.

And that’s what Yard Lion Studios will always do. With that in mind, I am proud to say that our production company is strictly independent. Always have. Always will.

Always Entertain.

Always Educate.

Always Explore.

And always stay independent.

I will continue to work with actors, both Union and Non-Union Alike.
