Parenting is not easy, but it's very rewarding. I ask God for strength and mercy each and everyday.

**** LONG POST ALERT ****

Yesterday, our son Isaiah went missing while he was outside with his grandmother. Ofcourse, I started panicking and felt like I was going to pass out. I felt as if I was going to die. I felt different, I felt uncomfortable. It was not a nice feeling and I wish that on no one. After driving around with the help of my mom, husband and neighbor we found him 🥰. I even called the police, but we found him while I was on the phone with the police.

He was ok and well. Isaiah decided to ride his bicycle with the broom to sweep the sidewalks in the neighborhood. He met a nice Jamaican lady who he took us to her house to find out what happened. He decided to volunteer on his own to help the elderly lady and sweep her sidewalk. Yes, he was doing the right thing by helping, but we told him that he needs supervision. "I just want to help people " he said and started crying because he knows he's in trouble for leaving without letting us know.

The moral of all of this is that kids live what they learn. He watch me for many years helping others. Helping others to be a better them. Helping others with so much more and he decided to continue the journey at such a young age. He's ok and well thank God. We had a very long talk with him and the night before we talked about stranger danger so we were very surprised about his action. Over the years I watched this little baby grow and I always said that I see so much of me in him and it's a bit scary because helping too much can lead to people taking advantage and ungratefulness sometimes because I experienced, but that is apart of life, but he may not be able to cope as much a was able to and that is what scares me.

I say this to say that this year has been very hard for me for I was going to give up on volunteering effort and so much more because I'm tired. I have been volunteering since I was a teenager and love it, but I started walking for Autism when my eldest son was diagnosed with Autism at three years old. This year was going to be my last year of Walking for Autism Awarenes and I was supposed to announce it a few months ago, but I kept saying it's not time and asking God to show me signs. God had to show me my rewards, signs through my son and others and I felt that. I feel a sense of relief after this incident yesterday, even though I'm still shocked to say the least. This message is to inspire someone to start now * it's not too late * don't give up.
