Call to Artists! Presented by The City of Tamarac.
The City of Tamarac, Florida is seeking to commission six (6) semi-finalists artists to create wall murals at the City’s Sportsplex water Tank located at 9901 N.W. 77 Street, Tamarac, Florida 33321. Each sessions measures approximately 14 ft. x 14ft. The artwork should be a clever approach to the iconic reference to different type of sports engaged in at the Sportsplex. It should be colorful, contemporary, abstract in nature and complementing the water tank’s color.
Each winning artist(s) will be awarded an $8,000 contract and will be responsible for the creation and installation of the final work.

Join us this Thursday night at ArtServe, 6pm for “Voices from the Street”, supported by The Hudson Family Foundation.
Upon arriving at ArtServe, guests will be able to walk through a mobile shower bus from "Showering Love" and a mobile shower stall from "Hope South Florida".
There will be a video shown featuring "Showering Love's" CEO Jeanne Albaugh and her experience of living 10 years on the street. We will also show a short video from "Hope South Florida" and what they do daily to feed people living on the streets.
There will also be artwork and other written materials on display created by unhoused adults and their children. All the drawings, paintings, poems and essays on display will be for sale with the artists receiving 100% of the proceeds. A panel of judges will also award gift cards and bus passes as prizes for the best work.

Join ArtServe as we partner with Karen Bryce, a certified Life Coach and Sound Healing Practitioner, to experience SOUND HEALING. Experience the soothing tonal qualities of Sound Bowls, as well as various other sound and/or vibrational instruments, and reap the benefits of meditation and soft yoga positions, as we demonstrate a different side of our show about Mental Wellness.

They offer services to the unhoused while also addressing food insecurities, hygiene, and health issues, to help restore their self-esteem and dignity while showing them the path to self-sufficiency and financial stability.
Guests will also be invited to watch a panel of speakers who will share their firsthand experiences of how they became unhoused and where they are today. With the goal of creating more empathy and understanding for the unhoused, panelists will also discuss what can be done to mitigate and prevent the problem. HOPE South Florida, included in the panel, has a mission of keeping families together, providing compassionate care, and guiding and equipping those in need on a path to holistic life change.
Art and prose created by unhoused adults and their children will be displayed in the gallery. All drawings, paintings, poems and essays on display will be for sale, with the artists receiving 100% of the proceeds. A panel of judges will also award gift cards and bus passes as prizes for the best artwork.

We had the pleasure of hosting our mental health panel discussion, with Kat Sierra, Director of Operations for Funding Arts Broward, Melvin Murphy from Broward Sheriff's Office, Heather Palacios, founder of Wondherful, Inc, moderated by ArtServe's staff, Ed Zeltner. In 2 of our small galleries, we have artwork by members of Schott Communities, a non-profit organization addressing the needs of person who are deaf or who are physically or intellectually challenged.
