So very true!

Without looking back it’s easy to believe that you didn’t accomplish anything in 2023.

It’s easy to get into our feelings and be stuck there, I am guilty of that sometimes.

When I am in this mood, the Holy Spirit has a way of rolling back the curtains. As the different scenes flash before our eyes, we are reminded to not focus only on the “big” things but everything.

In the everything we are able to see the progression of our journey and in that we get to witness the things that we missed because we didn’t meet the big overarching goals that we set.

What about that life that was transformed because you obeyed?

What about those repeat clients that you had and who mentioned your name in a room that you couldn’t get yourself in?

What about your own growth and development, the evidence of which others see and comment on?

What about the faithfulness of God, showing up in your greatest need, opening doors, giving you favor and showing you grace?

Those sound like wins to me and that’s only a minor glimpse.

Today, you may be concerned about 2024, you are wondering if with all your best laid plans and prayers and support if you will make it.

I encourage you to look back at the last three years, what do you see?

Can you see the faithfulness and favor of Almighty God, I can and that’s why I will choose Joy and to rejoice.

You might not have met all your goals in 2023, I sure didn’t. We made a lot of mistakes, didn’t follow through as we should and we had to learn from them.

The same God who took you, me, us through 2023 is already PRESENT in 2024 and He is saying “I have you in the palms of MY hands and your walls are ever before Me.”

Celebrate and move into next year walking in faith and confidence, knowing that as you plan, and prepare, it’s God who will prosper and give us the increase. Blessings

What are you thankful for in 2023?, drop it in the comments and let’s celebrate each other.

Look Out For Your Tribe

As we approach the Christmas season, there are a lot of mixed emotions taking place.

Some people are are happy while others are dreading the holidays.

Be observant of those around you, your close friends, family members, neighbours and your colleagues.

What emotions are on display that you may be missing in your own excitement.

If you look closely, you will realise that something is missing, a light has gone out and the smile is not as bright as it normally would be, the laughter is not as joyful as in times before.

Some are experiencing some first this year: a seat missing from the dinner table, a lost job, broken trust, loss of a family member, friends or colleagues and so much more.

While you are celebrating your blessings take the time to notice others that need some motivation , and encouragement to get through just one day.

Be kind, compassionate, caring and understanding. Ask what you can do to help make it easier for them.

They may respond that you can’t, it here a few things that you can do, if their tone or body language suggests otherwise:

-send a note to say you are thinking about them
- Get some flowers
- Take a meal over
- Invite them over
- Don’t force a conversation- let them lead or find something light hearted to talk about or watch

I encourage you to look out for someone that need a reminder that it will be well. Blessings

You will never know what they will accept, sometimes we say no, because we don’t know how to say yes.

Sometimes in a hard reason we forget what God has done.

Take a moment today to reflect on where He brought you from, how God kept you.

As I struggle with a current situation this is the reminder that the Lord gave me. As it has encouraged my heart, I hope it will be so for us as well.

God is faithful and He keeps His promises.

This morning as I picked up my journal to write, my heart was flooded with thanksgiving.

I wasn’t reflecting on on anything specific, I could hear myself giving God thanks for His blessings on my life.

As I poured my heart out onto the pages, I started reflecting on all the situations that He brought me and seen me through.

Take a moment out of your day , to pause and reflect on all that God has done, you will notice a difference in your attitude and your spirit will become lighter.

Don’t focus all your energy on what you think you need and don’t have, focus instead on what you have that you didn’t expect to receive. In the next breath, give God thanks.

It is He who opened those doors, blessed you with favour, made those connections, kept you from losing your mind…

Have a grateful week and count your blessings as the day goes by.

Leadership Tip of the Day: Show up as yourself, everyone else will have an opinion about you and judge you based on their perceived perception of you.

You know who you are, so lead and show up in that place of authenticity. That’s what influences and impacts others. Blessings.

The opportunity to serve women as a mentor - whether young or mature is both a privilege and an honour.

For the past 6 months it was my pleasure to serve 3 women from three different countries, three different time zones, and two great organisations that’s making a difference in the lives of others.

Coincidentally, this past weekend was the close out for all three women.

Deciding to mentor others isn’t easy, but the effort is rewarding and well worth the investment of time and talent.

I do what I do and pour from a place of authenticity and integrity. I am a learner as well as a giver, I do not enter the mentor relationship as if I have all the answers, no, no, no. I am in that relationship to learn as well.

Dependence on the Holy Spirit is a key component in how I operate in these sessions. A clear mind is needed, a keen ear is critical and a non judgmental attitude is necessary. All these mixed together produces IMPACT.

When our mentees transition, their lives as well as ours must be the better for it. We should not leave the session the same way we came in, we should have leaned something, that not only benefits us, but the mentee as well.

It’s great to know that when we use our gifts in the service of others that God rewards our times and efforts with the acknowledgment that we did a great job.

We do it with love and in love, impacting lives, one woman at a time.

Whose life can you make a difference in today?

For the first time in my assignment as Speaker , I had to use a translator.

It is an experience that I will not soon forget. We had to learn to partner with each other, I had to learn to slow down, in order for the audience to receive the same message in their language.

I was filled with joy at their interest and the questions they asked. Sharing our stories make an impact in the lives of others and o am so glad that I said Yes!

Sometimes opportunities present themselves that takes us out of our comfort zones, and it can be so easy to say we don’t have what it takes, and miss an opportunity to make an impact.

The feedback from the client, staff and participants have been overwhelming. Patricia Lyons thank you.

My translator brought the same level of energy as I gave and she helped to make the event a success: partnership in action.

As I reflect on the role that you have played in this year’s conference , whether as a sponsor, moderator, panelist, vendor, virtual audience, attendee and as my team mates, all I can say is God used you to execute the vision that He had for us this year at Positioned for Purpose Women’s Conference 2023.

Thank you somehow seems inadequate to express my how much your support means to me.

I am grateful and thankful for your obedience to say yes, to show up, to purchase tickets, to deliver and execute this vision. Without your support what took place in the room could not have happened. To God be all the glory.

To my planing team - my sister friends, my prayer partners and fellow faith walkers, what a blessing you have been to me.
You prayed, you encouraged and you stayed the course, when it didn’t look possible, you didn’t give up or discouraged me, you instead continued praying, believing and worked with your whole hearts, and God who is no man’s debtor proved to us that when we put our confidence, faith, and trust in Him we will never be ashamed.

Blessings to you all and thank you for supporting us.

Mentorship Matters: Reflecting on my journey as a mentor.

Pouring into the lives of others is a privilege that I am thankful for.

Sometimes it can feel as if we aren’t making headways, but then you will hear something that boosts your confidence and we use that to push forward .

As a mentor , it’s a learning experience the mentee and mentor. As a mentor we don’t have all the answers or all wisdom, and it’s ok to say so.

Doing what I love and serving with love, grace and humility.
