Today marks 185 years since August 1839, when France acquired and released the patent for Louis Daguerre’s photographic process—called the daguerreotype—(scroll to see) and offered it as a gift to the world. A polished metal plate was the medium on which the image was imprinted, a unique image—copies were not possible—with astonishing definition. The first photograph in history—called a heliograph—had been created more than a decade earlier. Its creator, the Frenchman Nicéphore Niépce, died without recognition, never imagining that history would later declare him the inventor of the photographic medium.

To me, photography has been a way to bend light and freeze time. To capture or create a moment. To travel. To experience the world. It has giving me a unique language in which I can communicate.

Yesterday, I ventured with my recently bald head to the outside world. And what a better place than . The con community is one I have been able to rely on for many time in my life and what better than this to show case my bald head with style!
Since the main reason to come to the con was for getting a photo and signature of Sokka and Aang voice actors. I decide that dressing as the Avatar would be a good way to venture out. To tell you that the community didn’t disappoint. I was so relieved to be just a cosplayer and not having to deal with the reactions for my bald head other than “omg! It’s Aang!”
To everyone that stop me for a photo, thank you, I know you didn’t know but you made this girl day a great one!
And my friends, my sweet friends that saw me for the first time and reacted the best way posible! I love you so much! Thank you for those encouraging words and big smiles!
And of course, my hubby (.0x7d ! My number one cheerleader! I love you! Thank you for your patience and support! Everything becomes easier with you by my side. To dodging Bullets! Te amo!

Valentine’s Day can be whatever you want it to be! My husband and I choose to date throughout the year. But if you really love to celebrate today, here are some fun alternatives to the flowers/chocolate/card vday classic.

1. Plan an adventure date like doing a local Food Truck tour or Pack a light picnic and go star gazing (if you have a telescope, even better)

2. Spread it out over the month or the year! Instead of trying to go all out one day, you can plan different tiny dates throughout the year, making it more exciting and manageable

3. Buy everlasting flowers AND a fun activity aka the Lego flowers. They just released a rose bouquet that I am dying to photograph!

1 month to go to the race that would mark my 11 years doing Disney Races and my 10th anniversary of doing half Marathons...10 years!​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​I still remember my first long race—Tower of Terror 10miller. I have never been a long-distance runner but the idea of a run through Walt Disney World at night that would end at my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios sounded like fun. I did! And I got a cool ToT medal that is still one of my faves...
Jump to Jan 2014, and I found myself on the cheering squad of my friend Vanessa for her First Disney Marathon. At the Expo, I saw that there was a race with a Tinkerbell theme, and if you ran the Princess race in WDW you can get a Pink extra medal for running "Coast to Coast" (WDW and Disneyland). What if? I took a pic of the medals and posted it online with the caption "2015 goals?"...10 years later, many races later, these races had become a part of my life, and a great excuse to spend a weekend a year (sometimes two) with my favorite running companions at Disney.
After the pandemic, my body hasn't been the same and my time at the races has become a little bit harder than before. I still go, but it takes me longer, and with that, I lot of self-doubt and frustration. I have been working hard (especially last year) to to be back on track. But it is a process that takes time and I have learned that our bodies can do amazing things if we treat them with grace and love...I am learning to be patient with myself and keep pushing forward. How this race will go, I have no idea. I just know that I have done it before and no matter what I will cross that finish line with pride and will keep pushing forward.

Happy Ahsoka Day! January 29th, 2008 we were introduced to one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe: Ahsoka Tano(Leia would always be my first love!)​​​​​​​​​..​​​​
First voiced by (which I have the chance to meet several times!) and now portrayed by (Boricua, Wepa!), Ahsoka was the apprentice of THE Anakin Skywalker. She started as annoying kid and grow to be one of the strongest force sensitive character.
Can we talk about how my fave character had a seriously rocky start in the fandom (Shoutout to my fellow SW fanbros)? But seriously, her character growth is like my top fave in the whole franchise. She's taught me it's cool to set boundaries, even with the people you love, and that it's totally fine to show some vulnerability. Also, she is totally a badass!
I love bounding (light cosplay) as her, photographing every cosplayer that I encounter, and one day I will do a more accurate cosplay of her!
