When we bought our first home, I thought all I needed was a realtor but then we were introduced to the mortgage process! I was 18, just out of high school and I had no clue what was going on except that buying a home is great. Our loan officer educated us through every step of the way. I remember thinking the mortgage process was simple! “What an easy job,” I thought.(😂) Our loan officer was organized, quick, and always on the dot with everything that was needed! We closed on our home efficiently!
When we bought our second home, the process was not so smooth and almost felt like a nightmare. We had a loan officer over-promising things that then left us scrambling to find someone who could help. I didn't know much about the process, and if it wasn’t for our Realtor keeping us in the loop with mortgage questions we would have stayed confused. I learned that without a great Realtor AND loan officer, it can get ugly quickly. Once it was all said and done, I asked myself “What the hell does a loan officer really do?” and there started my passion for helping others have an educated mortgage process. So, here I am!
