Yoga can make you feel better by positively affecting your mood and reducing negative emotions:
* Brain chemicals
Yoga can increase levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a brain chemical that's associated with better mood and lower anxiety. People who practice yoga regularly have about 27% higher GABA levels than those who don't.
* Nervous system
Yoga can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which can help reduce the "fight, flight, or freeze" response and lower negative emotions like depression, anxiety, and anger. It can also reduce activity in the limbic system, the part of the brain that controls emotions, which can help you have a more tempered response to stressful situations.
* Brain waves
Yoga and meditation can increase alpha rhythms, which are brain waves that indicate a state of wakeful rest and can produce a feeling of calm.
* Body
Yoga can also reduce heart rate and blood pressure by reducing the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and increasing the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Your brain takes cues from your body, so when your body is calming down, your brain gets the message that everything is okay.

JOIN US FOR Summer Solstice Sound Journey and Cacao Ceremony with Stacey Vann
The summer solstice marks the beginning of the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest day of the year before the nights start to grow longer again.
In its most basic essence, this day is a celebration of the sun shining on us and illuminating our essence.
The solstice celebrates life, fertility, and the cycle of time and seasons. Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate and give thanks. It is also a time to set intentions and make prayers at the midpoint of the year.
Bathe in the sublime sounds of the symphonic gongs and crystal bowls inviting the restoration of your body, the recalibration of your nervous system, and the reconnection to your Spirit.
Experience the ancient intelligence and high vibrational frequencies emanating from the sacred sound currents restoring the free flow of vital energy throughout your body.
Please your own mat, blankets, journal, and a mug for the cacao ceremony.

3 ways yoga improves your mental health❤️
https://neurogum.com/blogs/thinktank/self-care-3-ways-yoga-can-improve-your-mental-health
Change is the only constant.
Ahimsa is the first of the moral codes taught in the eight limb path. Ahimsa is defined as non-violence.
Compassion, empathy, kindness, and respect all align with ahimsa. The ancient teachings state that practicing ahimsa can assist in spiritual growth, personal peace, and can help support unity and a more peaceful existence.
Ahimsa includes not harming the self, but also not allowing yourself to be harmed. This understanding is so primary to the Indian culture, it is rarely written about.
The scope of compassionate action begins with the self. Placing boundaries is a mindful and appropriate behavior.
Q: Do you accept the behavior of another, even if it may hurt or damage you?
Some ways to create healthy boundaries:
-Remain strong and conscious of your words
-Create distance. Either physically, or mentally. Give yourself space to contemplate.
-Confer with someone outside of the circle of difficulty. This could be a friend, colleague, or councilor.
-Journal. Writing can reveal truths from the unconscious layers, bringing things to the surface to observe.
-Practice verbal replies. Having a rehearsed set of thoughts, practiced and available, helps when you may be caught off guard by a habitual behavior from another person you consistently have trouble with.
-Thank you for telling me how you feel.
-I’d like to think about what you said before I respond.
I see you are (hurt, angry, sad, disappointed) and I share that feeling. How are you managing it? I am choosing to (pray, talk to a councilor, let time pass, stay curious) about it until I really understand where my feelings are coming from.
Ultimately it is our responsibility to understand ourselves above all others. Healthy conscious boundaries allow space and time to process.
“Even if it meant to hurt me, it can not get through, if I stand guard at the door of my mind.”

She Thinks BIG!!! - Dragonfly Yoga Inc description

YOOOOGGGG-AAAHHH!!!!
To the inspiring runners of the Emerald Coast!!!
Bobbi Gibb
When she applied to run in the Boston Marathon in 1966 they rejected her saying: “Women are not physiologically able to run a marathon, and we can’t take the liability.”
Then exactly 50 years ago today, on the day of the marathon, Bobbi Gibb hid in the bushes and waited for the race to begin. When about half of the runners had gone past she jumped in.
She wore her brother’s Bermuda shorts, a pair of boy’s sneakers, a bathing suit, and a sweatshirt. As she took off into the swarm of runners, Gibb started to feel overheated, but she didn’t remove her hoodie. “I knew if they saw me, they were going to try to stop me,” she said. “I even thought I might be arrested.”
It didn’t take long for male runners in Gibb’s vicinity to realize that she was not another man. Gibb expected them to shoulder her off the road, or call out to the police. Instead, the other runners told her that if anyone tried to interfere with her race, they would put a stop to it. Finally feeling secure and assured, Gibb took off her sweatshirt.
As soon as it became clear that there was a woman running in the marathon, the crowd erupted—not with anger or righteousness, but with pure joy, she recalled. Men cheered. Women cried.
By the time she reached Wellesley College, the news of her run had spread, and the female students were waiting for her, jumping and screaming. The governor of Massachusetts met her at the finish line and shook her hand. The first woman to ever run the marathon had finished in the top third.
