A real special show tonight. Tonight we pay tribute to Gregg Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a well known local fine artist. He had gallery shows all over the country and was known for his unique style that blended bits of Chinese brush painting, mixed media, oils and an astounding imagination. He also created dozens of amazing album covers for many midwest artists like Screaming Gypsy Bandits, C-Clamp and others.
He also had one of the most diverse and incredible record collections I've ever personally seen. Simultaneously the largest single owner world music collections that I've seen, with a huge amount of free jazz, 20th century classical and avant garde, musique concrete, Celtic music, and so much more. This episode is a memoriam to Gregg and his memory that will live on in what we have affectionately called, The Coffey Collection.
Morrison and I have had the distinct pleasure of going through this great collection. That dare I say, is another piece of art he created that we can share with you in this special show.
