Hello friends ✌️life update:

As January comes to an end, it’s a BIG month of planning for me. I plan all the vendors we will use for the year. I look at everything that worked well, things we can improve on and
set new practice goals for 2024. Planning in January is a BIG part of my practice ownership process. This year the planning has been two-fold!

February is a really important month for my family. We have a lot of important family events coming up and my energy has been solely focused on planning these. May share them on the gram in the next few weeks but I really need everyone’s prayers for my family 🙏

As exciting as these times are, my family has been under the weather. Taking care of sick kiddos with my other two babies (my offices) consumes me. They are both literally a part of my being, but my work as a mother comes first and social media falls off the plate.

Behind the scenes we haven’t stopped transforming smiles. In fact there is a smile transformation coming that is literally everything. I can’t wait to share yet another compelling story that will leave you in tears.

Sharing on social media has not been easy for me with the ongoing injustices in falasteen. Every part of me prays for their freedom. It’s taken my Instagram mojo away. But I will always share the AMAZING work my team and I put into designing your smiles. Those of you that travel the distances to come see us know that when your in my chair, you are our ONLY priority and everything.

We wouldn’t be who we are without your amazing support, please keep my family, staff and offices in your prayers ❤️

Someone asked me how I would describe 2022 in one word. My word this year is “loss”. We’ve actually experienced a lot of loss as a family.

We almost lost our location and office building. We lost one of our most important family members. In all the losses, we learned it’s not the things, building or assets that make you happy. It’s the people. Your family, your friends, your co-workers.

Things come and go, but may you be surrounded in 2023 with a positive tribe. May you be gentler with yourself, uphold respectful boundaries and just focus on creating a kinder environment.

I’ve been bad at hoarding all the smile makeover before and afters.

✨Thank you for loving my honesty about neglecting oral care when life gets in the way!

Its important for me as a health care provider to humanize myself. Before motherhood, it was easy to judge doctors who wouldn’t take their own advice (smoking in the parking lot, messy hair, don’t care vibes).

Now, I think it’s important to let my patients know that they are not alone. That during tough times my dental care also falls short.

My patients have shared the toughest stories with me:

Stories of abuse and domestic violence 🤕
Stories of being s*x trafficked 🫦
Stories of survivorhood 💪

Know your dentist isn’t too far behind. I too have witnessed some of these.

What matters is the fresh start. Even if the start happens over and over again. Even if the start doesn’t happen until later in life.

What matters is you started. And for that I’m so so proud! So next time you feel shamed for your dental care, know that dentists are humans too, we’ve struggled with our mouth too.
