Travelling with a Cerebral Palsy child in a R-pod camper. Living and Loving Life Beyond a Diagnosis!
Congratulations and Dallas Stars on the series win tonight!!! One of your biggest fans was cheering you on tonight. Brielle got so excited to see yall win. Congrats from one of many HopeKids that was cheering you on!
We are officially on the road back to Massachusetts! One last stop at . Thank you again to everyone that has helped make this possible! Special CirCAMPstances
It's been a rough week. Brielle has been in the hospital since Tuesday. We brought her to Urgent Care with fever and vomiting expecting to get a medicine to help her then head home. That obviously didn't happen. After many tests, xrays, ultrasounds, and one surgery, it was determined that Brielle had kidney stones and a UTI caused by the kidney stones. She had a stint put in her kidney tube(my medical term) to help her pass the stones which she will have to have another surgery to remove it later this week. Then she had some issues from anesthesia, so she's been here for an extra day so far. Hopefully today is the day she gets to go home. Brielle has been enjoying all the attention, except for the first couple days. She didn't enjoy any of that. Lol She even lost her first tooth during surgery and the tooth fairy came to visit her in the hospital. She's such a good patient.
Last night, Brielle was the VIP guest of the Dallas Stars goalie, Jake Oettinger, thanks to HopeKids North Texas Family Forum. It was an unbelievable experience for Brielle, and us! Brielle received a Jake Oettinger jersey and an official warm-up puck for the game. Then, she got to meet Jake Oettinger downstairs in the press room where he autographed her jersey and puck for her. Brielle was also featured on the jumbotron several times. The Stars came up a little short on the game, but Jake and HopeKids made this a night that we will never forget. Thank you HopeKids and Jake Oettinger for the amazing, much needed night out. # Special CirCAMPstances Dallas Stars Foundation
Merry Christmas to all of .
Yesterday, we finished our season at and started our trip back to Texas. Oh what a difference this experience made in Brielle's life. She is doing AMAZING. As far the whole experience of workamping for the first time, we met so many amazing people. Many we feel will be friends forever. Thank you everyone for making us feel so welcome in Massachusetts! So many great people in the Northeast!
Yesterday, we decided to take advantage of a mostly rain-free day and head down to Newport, RI with our friends, Shawna Weaver Aries and Mark. We have been here twice before, but it rained on us both times. This time it held off so we finally got to see "The Breakers" mansion and walk/enjoy the Cliff Walk. It was UNBELIEVABLE! Definitely happy we finally were able to do it and can't wait to check out the other mansions that you can tour. After the tour, we had a nice walk along the ocean on the Cliff Walk before heading back home, but we had to stop in Fall River again for some more Portuguese food. Mmmm!!!
Although we wear green every day here at Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort , I like to think that all the Normandy Farms employees were wearing green TODAY for Brielle on this National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. 💚💚💚💚💚
Omg... our friends, Eric and Kim Edwin, made these for us. I can't explain how much these mean to us. ❤️❤️❤️ They made them for us to symbolize our times we spent at . Thank you, Eric and Kim at . It's been so good seeing yall again. Love yall!!!
Hey , as of today, we are officially paying out of pocket for Brielle's Occupational Therapy and soon to be Physical Therapy also. We are appealing this with her insurance, but we aren't very hopeful. If you would like to help, we would be so grateful! I'm including different ways that we can receive funds on this flyer. Thank you so much in advance. , we appreciate and love you more than words could say. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
Today flew by... we moved today. We are no longer right behind the pool. We decided to get a little shade and move to a different site. Oh what a difference it is to have some shade from the sun. I think we are gonna like this site more than the first site we were in. After being welcomed to our new site by all our neighbors, we had to do some grocery shopping. Nothing exciting there except for the pizza that we had before shopping from Famous House of Pizza . So good!!! But to end the evening, we played some shuffleboard and had a swim in the pool. We love being able to take advantage of some of the amenities here at Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort . Now it's time for bed... tomorrow we have a full day of doctor's appointments in Boston and they start early. Good night everyone!
Hey guys... The Fudge Lady is outside of Pool 1 at Normandy Farms Campground. OMG... I love me some fudge and she has a large variety of flavors. If you like fudge like we do, go check her selection out!!! Mmm!
Look who's ready to go to work with me today!!!
Today, before we took Brielle to therapy, we decided to check out Patriot Place for the first time. We have been here one time to get Crumbl Cookie, but this was the first time we got to explore it. It's really a nice, well designed area, even for someone who isn't a Patriots fan. Lol Sorry to all my Cowboys friends, but Patriot Place is pretty cool so I had to post about it.

If you would like to learn about this AMAZING campground that we are workamping at, watch this video. The campground just got a PERFECT score of all 10s by Good Sam. They even said it's the nicest park they have ever been to, and they travel all over the world. In this video, our manager, Marcia Galvin , tells you all about this beautiful campground that we are super proud to be working at and enjoying.

We came to Boston for 2 main reasons. Therapy at NAPA Center was one reason and Brielle started it a couple weeks ago. Today, she has her first appointment with the second reason, the CAIR Team (Center for Advanced Intestinal Rehabilitation). Hopefully today we start getting some answers to Brielle's short gut/digestion issues. Prayers are appreciated!!
Looks like a lazy, movie watching kind of night! Please excuse our mess!!! 😊

Our Grandgurl, Brielle, was featured on the Children's Flights of Hope page. This amazing organization flew us to Boston a couple months ago for Doctor's appointments with a team of specialists for her Short Gut.
Meet Brielle!
Brielle has Short Bowel Syndrome. You may have also heard it called Short Gut. Short Bowel Syndrome is a very rare disease causing the intestines to not work properly.
It leads to trouble absorbing water, vitamins and nutrients necessary to survive. Some children may need to receive nutrients through their veins called TPN (this is like Gatorade in an IV) and others may have a feeding tube that goes directly to their belly to slowly receive nutrients!
This rare disease was the fourth leading diagonosis that CFOH flew children for in 2022! Our HOPE is that one day no child will face this battle, but right now, we will keep flying for their lives!
Today, we were able to get Brielle a drop-in appointment at NAPA for Occupational Therapyand Feeding Therapy. Her first therapies since we got here on Sunday. To be honest, we were a little concerned because she has different therapists than she had when she was here before. We REALLY wanted her original therapists but that wasn't possible. After today, we realize that Brielle is in some GREAT hands. We are thankful that NAPA has so many amazing therapists. We are excited again about this next chapter for Brielle.
I'm so proud of this little gurl. I'm so proud to be her grandaddy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my beautiful Grandgurl. We love you so much. I can't believe you are 6 years old. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Our really good friends, Eric Edwin and Kim Edwin , made us this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING cutting board/stove cover. It will NEVER be used as a cutting board. It's too perfect for that. We can't thank yall enough for this beautiful work of art that you have created. He also made us a shelf for my Keurig to match the wood of the cutting board. OMG... ❤️❤️❤️ If you would like Eric to create something awesome for you, you will not be disappointed. The name of his business is Functional Fractals . Check them out.
