At our Night at the Museum event, we had the honor of meeting Tiffany Armstrong, who received services from Easterseals as a child and young adult. We are pleased to share her story with our community. We thank her mom, Bonnie Armstrong, Executive Director of The Shaken Baby Alliance for connecting with us and her incredible work to help children and families.

Easterseals Lonestar has made ALL the difference to Tiffany. When Tiffany was a small baby, she was the victim of child physical abuse that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury. As a result of this injury, Tiffany was left blind, paralyzed, and on a ventilator to help her breathe. This brain injury resulted in cognitive disabilities that made learning very difficult.

The medical professionals did not give Tiffany’s family a lot of hope that she would ever be able to do very many things. Then, the family learned about Easterseals Lonestar.

From the time Tiffany was injured, until now – almost 30 years later, Easterseals programs have helped her.

🟠 Because of the physical therapy services provided by Easterseals, Tiffany walks.

🟠Because of the horse therapy services coordinated by Easterseals, Tiffany maintains her trunk strength, so she is able to breathe without a ventilator.

🟠Because of the speech and language therapy services provided by Easterseals, Tiffany talks and reads.

🟠Thanks to the music therapy services coordinated by Easterseals, Tiffany has learned so much that she was able to reach one of her major life goals when she enrolled in Tarrant County College.

Tiffany has recently set a new goal. She wants to start her own pet resort business!

These and other programs offered by Easterseals Lonestar provides Tiffany, other children, the elderly, our military veterans and their families hope and a chance to reach their goals and dreams.
