This beautiful Alex Martin, Scottish-made, 16 Gauge double-barrel shotgun was manufactured in 1945. 16’s being particularly popular in America during this period, these box-lock SxS’s are strong and appreciating additions to any collection. This particular Alex Smith features original hand-engraving to the receiver and barrels, a straight-grip “English” buttstock and splinter forend with excellent factory checkering to both, wears 26½” barrels choked at Imp.Mod./Full, sports 2½” chambers with ejectors, has double triggers and weights in at only 5.6 pounds! Provenance Letter thanks to the good folks across the pond at John Dickson & Son.

Wi******er Model 1886 .45-70 Caliber Rifle in the “Extra Light” solid-frame configuration. Records show this rifle was shipped to the Honorable William Henry Thorne of Canada on Oct. 13, 1915. W.H. Thorne sat as Director of the Royal Bank of Canada and was later called to the Senate of Canada during WWI, during which time he ordered this Wi******er. Extremely well kept, I imagine this piece has exchanged hands very few times over the last 108 years. Wondering if I shot it? Absolutely. ******er
L.C. Smith is one of the most recognizable names in the world of classic American double guns. Located in Fulton, NY, the companies history is rife with the changing of hands and partnerships, but L.C. Smith became a name of its own by the late 1800’s and was ultimately bought out by Marlin Arms in 1945. Production ended soon thereafter. Most commonly seen in the ‘Field Grade’, as it is said over 90% of L.C. Smith’s are, over the years other Grades were produced in limited numbers, such as; Ideal, S***t, Trap and Specialty. Seen here is a 12 Gauge Specialty Grade which features hand engraved scrolling to the receiver and barrels, deluxe wood with checkering to both the English stock and splinter forend, AND a single trigger (L.C. was among the first gunmakers to offer doubles with a single trigger option). The gun letters correctly with these options and it’s 32” barrels. An interesting tidbit for this particular shotgun: According to factory records, this firearm was built and shipped to ‘Von Lengerke and Antoine’ of Chicago in October of 1920. Von Lengerke & Antoine, a legitimate competitor to Abercrombie & Fitch and such during those days, was a high end outdoorsman store that is notably famous for supplying Al Capone and his gang with weapons during their 1920’s-30’s dominance on crime in the region. The Smith & Wesson Pre-22. Originally known as the S&W .45 ACP Hand Ejector Model of 1950, or the Military Model 1950 Army, these eventually evolved into the Model 22. Scarce, as no more than 4,000 fall into the “Pre-22” designation, this mint condition and original firearm is both affordable and worthy of any collection. Bright bluing throughout and check out the case colors on the hammer and trigger! Serialized to the pistol, the checkered walnut grips are👌. Manufactured in 1955. ****ms
