For The Love Of Dogs North Texas Rescue

Okay just to give you all an update since I haven't posted in a long time about the dogs or anything - this is a long one.

So I'm actually doing the hardest thing I've done, Well the third hardest thing I've done in the last 20 years.

The first thing that I've dealt with is that my grandson is going to be 3 years old in January does not know me.
It's absolutely heartbreaking.

Second is I haven't been able to take care of my dogs myself in over a year I just oversee stuff but I know who takes care of them and how.

I'm hiring the people that we have gone through and this last one Connor is an absolute Gods Gift for the Dogs and Me, She Has helped me To Stop crying over the fact that I'm Not Able to Physically Care for the Dogs Myself.

Third the reason this is the hardest thing is because I am In Heart failure and I have had two heart surgeries in less than eight weeks and it's just gotten worse each time and I've actually ordered my coffin - not to be morbid but my husband can't handle it when the time comes.

But to get to why this post.

We are moving with me bedridden and in heart failure having depending on everybody else to do what I need done and listening closely because I can hear everything that goes on but we are moving out of our home we have owned for over 30 years.
I am leaving tons of my stuff behind because it doesn't matter it's just stuff what matters is getting these 24 dogs moved that I haven't been able to find homes for since I'm not actively able to take them out for meet and greets and when you depend on somebody to come when they say they're going to come to meet them they just don't show up.

I have fought to stay alive to get these dogs relocated where they're going to be safe whether it's going to be our extended family down there willing to take care of them the rest of their lives if they do not find their forever homes or we're taking them will be there forever home.

We've changed the design and how we're building their indoor/ outdoor runs several times now but we went back to the original kind which is the safest most solid protective kind.
We are using shipping containers that are 8 ft wide and 40 ft long.
The plan is for them all to have their own doggie doors and their own little yards to be able to run out whenever they want and come in.

Because of my health we had to hurry up and they are temporarily all being in the 40 ft run and they will be let out into one big play yard when it's time to go in and out but as the days go on and we're there the individual runs will all be done- doggie doors cut and one whole side of the hole containers is going to be glass at the dog's level so all the dogs can look out into the woods in the trees and see the horses, the deer and whatever they'll want to see.

It's was taking weeks to get the electric hooked up and they finally turned it on today and I actually started crying. YAY Happy Tears.

We have to be out of our home by Sunday at midnight.

The stress of what are we going to do if they still drag on the electric was about to give me a stroke and I'm not kidding about that.

Now we're going to be able to start moving the dogs cuz their A/C is hooked up and we're just waiting to get the light system hooked up which should go in tonight and then the big move will be on.

We're going to have at least four back and forth trips left out of so many already but this time it's to move me and the Dogs. I've been So Extremely worried I wouldn't make it to the move.

We took so much less than the original contract was on our home because the guy started backing out and there just wasn't time to wait and look for another buyer that would keep their word because of my heart condition and what's happening so doing all we've done and hiring all the help we've needed we've been spending between four and $550 a day at this point and it's still not done it's going to go on for about 5 more days just in material and help to make sure everything goes okay.

We did the spray foaming of the dogs container homes instead of having to hire someone to save a little bit because it was less but the kit that came which is $1,200Left part of the roof exposed so if anybody can help with that that is going to be a partial kit and it's going to be around $500 from Amazon.

We have to get it sent out there within 2 days.

Anyway, we're on the last push we are almost done and once we're done with all this we will be able to handle what the dogs need.

Just the expense of the last 5 days of help needed the materials needed it's like already $5,000 over the budget that was allotted to move the dogs.

Made me Really Cry

Good morning everybody.
I know I haven't been on here in a really long time.
A lot has been happening.
We are just about ready to start moving the dogs to East Texas where the dogs will have indoor/ outdoor runs under the trees in the woods and it's really beautiful there.
I found out there's a big Rescue out there and I'm going to try to see if I can get involved with them once I get able to walk around again which some of you know I haven't been able to in about a year because of my heart.
I can do a few steps and that's it. Anyway, I just wanted to do an update and let y'all know that I was so blessed to be able to find a young lady who loves the dogs as much as I do and her name is Connor and she's been helping me Immensely and they all love her.
She does a great job and we're even going to bring her out to Texas a couple of times at least to help.

I'll be sending updated pictures as soon as we get them moved once it's finished down there so they can go then I will be going with them.

I'm having another heart procedure done on Monday and hopefully I won't be in there but a day or two and hopefully it will at least get me through the move?.

I just need these dogs moved and I need to know they're safe for the rest of their lives.

I would love to be able to do what the other rescue I saw is doing down there but it looks like she has a lot of donators and She has been able to rent a second really huge office/building Warehouse and she's using it to house a lot of dogs and she has a lot of people who volunteer which I haven't been able to get that going here.

That would be my dream and hopefully my health will let me get there and hopefully some of you all will be able to help out for the dogs?

It's cost about $8,000 more than we thought it was going to so far just getting the dogs moved and we're not done yet.

Please everyone cross your fingers say a little Prayer that Monday goes good and that we are totally out of here by midnight of next Sunday and down there in East Texas at least that's the plan.

Anybody can come see them as long as we're still up here for the next week maybe two and then you can come out there to Adopt or we can transport a dog to you.

All our babies are spayed or neutered they're all fully vetted and they're just waiting for loving forever homes.

Everybody that meets them says the same thing which I'm really proud of and that is" your dogs are so happy".

I just imagine the day that they're in their own homes with their own families and just how happy they will be then. 💝

We still need heavy duty dog toys for the dogs which minimum we need 24 of them so if somebody could just pick one and send it that would be great cuz they really need some toys and we could use some dog food because we haven't been able to pick up more than 300 lb of dry a a month from the place where we get it really cheap for rescues so if anybody can send some dog food that would be amazing.

So we need Pitbull tough toys we could always use some more metal food and water bowls and any kind of Purina Pro Plan dog food is great.

It can be so painful.

Well I hope everybody had a good 4th but I can't stand these fireworks anymore
It is terrifying my dogs so badly and just think about that when you have a rescue and have multiple dogs all terrified at the same time 😭. I know people like them and I know some people should be able to go see them but they need to go out away from where people and animals are because tomorrow morning there's going to be so many dogs that were either hurt or killed by the fireworks because they either jump their fence or try to go through it and they get hurt and I've been sitting here just wondering how in the heck can it be illegal to do this in a neighborhood and you call the fire department and they tell you well enough to catch your house on fire we won't come out you call the non-emergency police to see if somebody could just drive down the street one time and then maybe we'll quit and guess what it's an answering machine it tells you there's nobody available to take your call at this time. And I'm not a cop caller never have been can't stand them actually being called on people but when these dogs are so terrified that I have one just running from the back and start pooing on the floor that's disgusting and not because you peed on the floor but because he's so terrified. 💔
