The Air Force lost three Airman last month at one base due to mental health, leaving many to asking why?

Today was an amazing day of giving!!
With the help of some generous donors,
we were able to help two families for Thanksgiving!
Meet the Huff and the Moon families, after talk with them the past few days, we decided to take the Huffs shopping for their turkey day feast!
We then met up with the Moon family who just needed a little extra to make their holiday a little brighter!
Both families are amazing and it was an absolute honor and blessing to have the opportunity to not only meet you but to show you some love!
Thank you for your service and the support of your family.

Follow up
Today our Team did a follow up on our vet that was being exploited.
We took some tarps out today and covered his roof to the RV that he was staying in. We also had his sewer system connected this past week.
We were also able to get him to the Social Security Office and the process begins to get his Social Security reestablished. We have him scheduled for a VA appointment and working to get him on the local veterans housing list.
He now has power, and water and we were able to get him on a food delivery service.
Now, it’s just a waiting game.
Thank you to Lowe’s and those who helped make these services possible.
One Veteran at a time!

Our first responders face many dangers, and stressors throughout their careers, but one of the most dangerous is when they go home! That danger is the thoughts and images of the things they experience during their careers.
On average most will not and do not share or talk about these struggles, much of it is because they feel they will loose their job or two they don’t want to burden those around them, leaving them to face it alone.
Don’t wait for them to open up! Learn to intervene, to recognize and to connect with them. You can do these things through Mental Health First Aid!
Sign up and attend a class! Be proactive in the lives of those who serve.

Good afternoon all,
We received word that a federal officer working for the Air Force was injured and could use some support for herself and her family.
Officer India Resendiz was shot 9 times during a domestic violence incident, in front of her 4 year old son.
It is a true miracle that she survived. India has worked in law enforcement in two different states and currently is servicing as a United States federal officer with the Airforce.
India has a long drawn out road to recovery and will require all the help she can get in order to provide for herself and her son.
If you would like more information on how to help, please reach out to Kevin Smith. He will be able to provide additional information.

Both Airmen were deployed to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing in Afghanistan.
While deployed to Afghanistan, they performed fly-away security team, better known as “FAST” missions. As a FAST team, their duties were fly with the air crew and protect the aircraft and aircrew, passengers, and cargo, as these aircraft flew from one location to another.
Join us in honoring and remembering Kcey and Nathan. While keeping their families in our prayers.

Good morning and happy Saturday everyone!
This morning we wanted to share with you a youth baseball team out of Pocatello Idaho called the “Defenders”. The players don’t wear the traditional jerseys with their names on them. These young players chose to exchanged their names for names of fallen Air Force Defenders and the aircrew of Jolly 51 that were killed when their helicopter when down.
These young men chose to honor and remember those no longer with so they can still continue to live!
Thank you!

For 11 years we have been carrying the names of our fallen Defenders, friends, family, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, Marines, and sailers.
Everywhere we go someone shares a story of a bother, sister, some, daughter or friend. Sometimes they even give us a dog tag that belonged to their loved one for us to carry.
These tags go everywhere with us, as our way to honor and keep their memories alive.
Staring October 1st, once a month we will be adding a new tag of someone shared with us.
If there is someone who has served as a military member and/or a first responder that you would like us to carry, please share them with us, their story and a picture for us to share.
We want to ensure that they are never forgotten!
When a person dies, they die a physical death, when we no longer remember them or say their names, they die a second time.
Let us help them to continue to live.

Our Story
Team Defenders was created for the purpose to honor and remember our fallen Air Force Security Forces Members. In 2010, we lost a fellow instructor and our mentor. For two years we struggled with the his loss and needed a way to honor his life, dedication and loyalty to his family, to his fellow instructors and to the community he served.
In 2012, Carry The Load gave us our first real opportunity to share the stories of our Fallen Defenders as well as other stories of family and friends. We created a team of about ten Security Forces Instructors and we joined the Carry The Load movement. Each year, members of Team Defenders come together and we participate in several fundraising events to help bring awareness to our fallen Defenders, and other Military, Police, Fire, and other first responders.
Our mission is to give back to our community and while helping non profits organizations reach their goals by not only raising money in direct support of the non profits themselves but by participating in their events to support their efforts in bring awareness, and honors to these brave men and women. Some of these events, are but not limited to, Carry The Load West Coast, East Coast and Memorial Day Marchs, and the Bataan Memorial Death March,
