Since being here at Primrose PWH, Ms. Grace has moved from Preschool Pathways, to Preschool 1 & 2, and now, has found her official home in our Private Pre-Kindergarten class. We are so endlessly proud to call her one of our educators.

The start of a new school year is always exciting, but little ones sometimes feel nervous about making the transition whether that be the prospect of a new classroom, new teachers or new friends. Try these tips to help build your child's confidence for the first day of school and beyond:​

👋 Wave Goodbye to Summer: Enjoy an end-of-summer picnic and a first day back at school breakfast with your family.​

🙂 Keep it Positive: Your attitude makes a huge difference when it comes to building excitement about the school year. Talk to your child about all the fun they'll have and how they'll get to see their school friends soon. ​
​
🍎 Practice Healthy Habits: Schedules tend to get off track in the summer, so it's important to reestablish your child's normal sleeping and eating schedules. The transition will be easier for both of you when your little one is well-rested and feeling good. ​
​
🗓️ Make a Paper Chain: Starting in the final days of summer, create a paper chain with every "link" representing one day. Have your child draw what happened that day on each link. When the first month of school is over, you'll have a fun memory craft to decorate with. ​

📚 Read Together: Reading books about heading back to school is a fun way to get your child excited while helping strengthen their early literacy skills. ​

🌮 It’s raining tacos! A huge thanks to our Summer Adventure Club for making lunch for us today. Our friends handed out menus and worked together to make the tacos for all of our staff.
They had so much fun passing them out around the building! ☺️✨

"Hi, I am Candice Shedlock, and I have loved this school for 25 years! I have been married to my husband, Frank (Bubba), for 31 years. We have two beautiful daughters, three granddaughters, and one grandson. I have been a Pre-K Teacher, Curriculum Director, Assistant Director, Director, and now Executive Director of both Primrose PWH and our sister school, Primrose School of Firewheel. I love greeting everyone in the mornings and getting the kiddos day off to a good start. We have the best teachers, families, and kiddos around, that make me love my job so much!"

🦘Today we had a special visit from The Creature Teacher!
The children had an amazing time learning about and petting various animals, including a ferret, kangaroo, chinchilla, hedgehog, and the chameleon, Pascal. 💚
It was an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and fun!

Spring Fling has come to an end, and this year the Primrose community has raised more than $510,000 as children learned about the joy of giving without expectation. 🌸🎉​

Half of the funds raised will support local charities in Primrose school communities, and the other half support the Primrose Schools Children Foundation's mission to empower people, care for the planet and give back to communities through contributions to West Lakes Early Learning Center, No Kid Hungry®, Save the Children® and more.

Today is Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates Black history, equality and freedom in the United States. It's a day of remembrance, but also a day of joy and celebration for Black Americans. We honor and encourage families to join us in recognition of this important occasion!
