She sent me photos of the discoloration assuming it was a lost cause (which is the black you see in the photos)

It looks like mold but it's oxidation!
All the original stains from the wedding day and aging is GONE!

I'm telling you... they don't make sleeves like this anymore! 😍

Micki got married this past weekend...
Still cannot believe we were able to pull this off in time!

I've never thought of hiring a photographer to capture this meaningful moment!

Bluey is playing at Bass Hall in Fort Worth so we got tickets before Christmas...

I'm at Joann Fabrics a few weeks ago and noticed Bluey fabric. Bought a few yards and almost lost my religion, making matching outfits 😅

Hi 👋 I'm Sue, founder of Ava's Bridal Couture in Fort Worth 🤠

While studying speech pathology, I sewed in the basement of the Chi Omega house, making outfits (much like this Bluey get up) for Freshman Follies.

I got a part time job with an interior designer manufacturing facility to sew while in school.

Terrified to leave speech pathology to double major in fashion design, I knew how my parents would react. 🤣

I'm the face of our social media accounts but lucky enough to partner with co-owner Tammy Le (who is also a bridal seamstress!)

Tammy and I have been together 10+ years!

I'm enjoying a slower pace in my mid 40's after so many years of placing higher focus on work.

Loving what you do is hard to get balance but I'm grateful to use my hands to create, teach others and empower women!

Making dreams come true is what life is all about, right? 🫶

A few ideas to make the process faster and easier for you during alterations or dress shopping for neckline changes! 🏆

1. Ask if your dress can be special ordered with the changes during manufacturing?

If so, your dress arrives complete!

2. Order the matching lace (in the correct yardage) when you order your dress so it's all together ✔

This keeps you from unnecessary drop offs or pick ups at the last minute and convenient!

3. Dress inspo photos 📷

In our dress shopping appointments, you can tell me if you love the coverage in a specific dress so we can make yours the same by referencing the style!

In our alteration fittings, you can show Tammy inspo photos to help her see your vision in the front or back.

4. Pricing: 💸

Put aside $100 - $500 plus tax (depending on the designer matched materials, details and how far up you wish to go.)

Thought you should know...

We had a Western bride last week who was adamant she didn't want to try fitted dresses.

Her entire suggestion rack was flowy but...

When she got here, there was a fitted dress on the manikin that caught the whole groups attn!

She hated the 1st fitted dress We put on her 🤣

Part of me was torn as her stylist...

Do I keep putting her in the other fitted dresses on her top 5 rack or do I put her in flowy? 😆

Put her in a slim a line and she got quiet.

She didn't love it but she didn't hate it.

We kept going and put another dress on her.

Then, I started putting her in sheath dresses like this one.

Something that stretches and sparkles with some wow factor and comfort.

We added these custom bell sleeves and that was it!

Are we at Cavenders? 😂😅🤠

We laughed but seriously it had the perfect Western vibe she didn't know she was looking for!

Heck, I didn't know either!

She said yes to the fitted dress!! Lol

I still can't believe how everything fell into place!

Simplicity yet dramatic.
Fitted yet comfortable.
Western yet classic.

I'm so thankful she trusted me and the process! 🫶

It was March 5th, 2018....

texts me photo number 1 (in the master bath by the tub trying on her mom's wedding dress for the 1st time) 😍

We met at the Bridal Expo and Hannah knew she wanted to Remake her mom's dress!

After the Expo, we got together ❤️

Photo 3... yes we added pockets! 🤣

After all, a princess Ballgown needs pockets, right?

Photo 4... low back with wow factor *chef's kiss sculpted fit*

Photo 5... one million bridal pins 🪡

Hannah removed the Basque Waist, which meant we had to lengthen the bodice with matching lace, so the skirt was long enough for heels 👠

Photo 9... baby 👶 number 2 on the way, and Hannah is at Ava's today with Tiffany Murphy (work besties!). Who is remaking her Mom's dress too!

Thanks to Hannah's remake experience in 2018, we have the privilege of helping in 2024 🦋
