Cadet Parker handling Team TECH Ladies And Bots business like a boss.
Cadet Parker, after earning a coveted Alliance Team Leader position, strategizes with her team members, then graciously invite two other teams to join Team TECHLAB as an alliance for the semi-final rounds. Great job Cadet Parker!!
Cadet Parker is one of the first team leaders selected to takes her position among the leaders after Team TECHLAB earns a spot in the Semi-finals of the Qualifier.
Team TECH Ladies And Bots is our first-ever ALL Girls (Cadet Lynett Milan, Cadet Constance Parker, and Cadet Yasmeen Williams) Robotics Team. Please join us in giving a very special congratulation to our TECH Ladies And Bots. This was their very first year in robotics, and as a rookie team they made it all the way to 2nd position overall during the competition, before finishing 4th overall out of 27 teams; earning them a spot in the Semi Final Rounds of the Qualifier. This in itself was an extraordinary accomplishment; almost unheard of for a rookie team. Unfortunately, they didn’t advance beyond the Semi-finals, but the Ladies And Bots displayed Gracious Professionalism, represented themselves, the Highlander Battalion, and EHHS very well. They have established themselves (EHHS) as a Robotic team to be reckoned with! GIRL POWER!!! ABOVE THE REST!!
Cadet Palmore and Cadet Moreno work to earn valuable qualifier points in Team Nutbucket's effort to reach the UIL Regionals.

SY 2017/18 - September 11 Remembrance Ceremony
The Highlander Battalion performing our annual September 11th commemoration ceremony at the flagpole in front of Eastern Hills High School in memory of the victims and first responder of that horrific event. Our ceremony this year was a collaboration with Junior Cadet Corps cadets from Jean McClung and Handley Middle schools, cadets in Fire / Science, two Buglers from the Highlander Band, and our Eastern Hills Resource Officer. Our somber ceremony was witnessed by a crowd of approximately 100 students, teachers, and administrators. The ceremony began with the arrival of the American and Texas Flags carried by two JCC cadets (1 Jean McClung / 1 Handley) transported to our school by police es**rt. Upon arrival to our school, the two JCC cadets carrying the flags joined our Honor Guard and delivered the flags to our Color Guard. The other JCC cadets released a single balloon in memory of the victims. The buglers, played in tandem, and performed an excellent rendition of TAPS during the lowering of the flags. ABOVE THE REST!
Next stop Crazy Horse monument.
Today, with little to no fanfare, Cadet Blake's face was added to Mount Rushmore.
Mount Rushmore's wild life welcomes us to the mountain.
Our view during this morning's bus ride up to see the Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore monuments...by the way it's 20 degrees outside; so much for warm weather in South Dakota in May.
Cadet Campbell continuing to do a great job representing the Highlander Battalion on the Military History Staff Ride to South Dakota...two stories down underground, up close and personal with a minuteman missile.
Educating Highlander Cadets on military history; more specifically, the "Cold War!" Studying our military history provides one of the only avenues for us to understand past, current, and present conflicts in context. This understanding affects our ability to prevent, start, fight, and end wars. This understanding can hold the future of the world in the balance. Given the role war and conflict has played and continues to play in modern human civilization, it is hard to understate the value of studying military history. HIGHLANDERS; ABOVE THE REST!!

Highlander Cadets lead the way. This year the Highlander Battalion had it's first-ever Scholastic Warrior Academic Team - Robotics (S.W.A.T. - Robotics). We are so proud of our team, and what they were able to accomplish during their very first competition with their robot named "Harambe." The team members were Cadets Martinez, Ponce, Pena, and Torres.
