Like the sold-out WiEI in 2023, this year's event is led and championed by female leaders in the energy industry and is open to all energy disciplines. The event kicks off with a Welcome Reception on the evening of Oct. 14, where men and women from a wide variety of backgrounds can form new business connections. First-class professional development and more networking opportunities will take place throughout the following day.
After mimosas and breakfast on Oct. 15, Brendan McCracken, president and CEO of Ovintiv, will serve as our morning keynote, sharing the importance of advocating for women leaders in the energy industry. Meghan N. Eilers, EVP, midstream & marketing and general council at Ovintiv, will moderate the meaningful discussion.
Attendees will then be able to choose their own unique learning path from three intriguing educational tracks โ Land & Legal, Leadership and M&A. The full education lineup is almost finalized and is not to be missed! Over 5 CEUs are up for grabs for AAPL members and CLEs from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana are pending.
Other fun offerings throughout the day include a lunch panel, dessert networking break, speed mentoring session, institute gift and the return of the popular charity wine pull!

The Path of the Landman
On this day in 2022, โThe Path of the Landman โ Powering the Worldโ debuted at our 68th Annual Meeting. Since then, the full video and its accompanying shorter versions have served as an important advocacy and recruiting tool for the land profession. In addition to the views that it has amassed online, the video has been seen in person by thousands on high school and college campuses, at mainstay industry events like NAPE and AAPL Energy Institute and during outreach events like school counselor conferences, energy festivals and more!
โThe Path of the Landmanโ tells the story of the land professional's journey of converting ideas into energy. Bringing a fresh awareness of the landman's crucial role in the energy industry, it dispels myths and misconceptions while highlighting the importance of the land profession and energy business to our local communities, states, country and world by providing the basic necessities for a modern life.
Check out the full 10-minute video here or watch shorter versions on our YouTube channel โ https://bit.ly/4endkcd.
Special thanks to Chevron, Devon Energy, Chesapeake Energy Corporation and HDBC Investments for supporting this great industry tool.
