Meet our Doctors, Dr. Terry Drennan & Dr. Jade Carlson (formally Nix)! Dr. Drennan has been practicing dentistry in Fort Worth - his hometown - since 1979, helping countless neighbors achieve the oral health and happiness they deserve. In fact, he still has patients who’ve been coming to see him since he first opened his doors! At the beginning of 2023, Drennan Family Dentistry welcomed Dr. Jade Carlson. Together Dr. Drennan and Dr. Carlson go the extra mile to make everything from scheduled preventive care and tooth-replacing dental implants to last-minute emergency dentistry efficient, comfortable, and exceptional.

Back in the day, Dr. Carlson had braces, an expander, and oral surgery. In fact, she had her mouth wired shut for 6 weeks before entering high school! The procedure and how it changed her life for the better fascinated her, and she knew then and there that she wanted to spend her life helping others have a newfound confidence as well. At just 14 years old, she told her parents that she wanted to become a dentist!
All of these years later, she’s just as passionate about the dental field and what it can do for others. The combination of building lifelong relationships with science, medicine, and creativity is her favorite part of her job year after year. Genuinely, there is nothing she loves more than making others smile!

Happy National Toothbrush Day! We’re celebrating today by letting you all know the proper way to brush those pearly whites! In order to ensure your home care is on track you should brush twice daily with a soft bristle brush, brush at a 45 degree angle, and brush gently so as not to irritate the gums. These are just a few small changes you can make in your daily home care routine if you haven’t already! It’ll make your smile and your hygienist, Brittany, happy! 🪥💜

Although Dr. Drennan had no family members or close family friends who were medical professionals while he was growing up, he still knew he wanted to be a healthcare provider by the time he enrolled at Texas Christian University. In fact, one of the reasons he was excited to attend TCU was because of their highly regarded pre-medical curriculum! During his college years, he was encouraged by his advisors to research different options in healthcare, and he met various doctors and dentists as a result. He discovered over time that the dentists he talked with were very excited about their work and especially enjoyed interacting with patients on a personal level. He chose dentistry in the end, and even after 40 years, he still enjoys going to the dental office every day.
