📢 Texans For The Arts is excited to announce the opening of our internship program for the Fall 2024! We are seeking passionate, motivated, and creative individuals to join our team and contribute to our mission of advancing the arts in Texas.

Our internship offers hands-on experience in arts administration, public policy, community outreach, and resource development. Interns will work closely with our team on various projects, gaining valuable skills and insights into the nonprofit arts sector.

🗓️ Duration: Fall 2024 (September - December)
🌐 Location: Remote, with occasional in-person events in Austin, TX
⏰ Hours: 10 hours per week
💵 Compensation: $1500 stipend upon completion. College credit is available.

Responsibilities include research, event planning, outreach, social media management, grant writing, and more. Apply by August 15, 2024.

Casting for a newly revamped, original production, 'Freakshow: Unleash the Demons' set to return to Six Flags Over Texas during the highly anticipated Fright Fest.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
'Freakshow: Unleash the Demons' delves into the twisted world of Dr. HH Holmes and his sinister circus. This macabre 25-minute musical theatrical production takes the audience on a journey through Holmes' gruesome deeds. With haunting music, fire, a strap act, and a talented ensemble, the show unfolds with captivating specialty acts, showcasing the allure of the unknown and the darkness that lies within.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻:
𝗗𝗿. 𝗛.𝗛. 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲𝘀: Male Lead Singer, Mover. A zany entertainer with an eerie stage presence and strong vocal abilities. Loosely based on America’s first known serial killer.

𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮: Female Lead Singer and Ringmaster. Strong mover with a commanding presence and strong vocal abilities. She embodies the dark and mysterious ambiance of the show.

𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀: We are seeking four experienced female dancers with strong dance abilities and an eerie stage presence. They will be an integral part of the captivating ensemble.

𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 & 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
Rehearsals begin Saturday, August 29, and run nightly through September 12, 2024.
Shows run Friday- Sunday, September 13 -November 3, 2024. 3 shows/evening (exact times TBD)
All rehearsals will be at Six Flags Over Texas.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
$25/hr for rehearsals and show days
Guaranteed 50 hours of rehearsal
Guaranteed 6 hours per show day
