Introducing our new Client Referral Program!

Our Colleyville location is growing and in need of a reading specialist. If you, or someone you know, fits this description, let's chat!

Our idea candidate is a dynamic educator, with a Master's, that has experience working with children in a PreK-12 setting, and has a flexible schedule to see students during and after school hours.

The Specialist is responsible for working with students on a one-on-one basis based on students' needs in either reading, dyslexia, or executive function therapy. Sessions could be either 45 minutes or one hour, depending on the students treatment plan. The Specialist must possess a love for working with learners of all types. This includes students with IDD, as part of our Reading for Life (RFL) program. This program offers 10 free sessions to children will IDD. (Parent/Guardians are present for all RFL sessions)

Last night we gathered 85 people in Jen’s backyard to celebrate the Legacy community and the nonprofits we support.

We started off by volunteering at building boxes of love for foster care families. And then moved to a dinner at Jen’s home. We heard from ( ) and . All 3 nonprofits, as well as , were surprised with $4,000 each to further their missions of solving systems issues! Thanks to the generosity of ( ) we were able to grant $16,000 last night!

Then, we launched our new tshirt and sock through a partnership with ! Because who doesn’t love to match their friends at an event and support great causes! $5 from every item sold from their Inspire Change Together line benefits Legacy!

And then we ended strong with an after party like all great weekends do at Nate’s on Main Street.

This community is dear to us! Last night was filled with love, and hope, and generosity, and community in the most special of ways!

Our office is closed for Spring Break, March 11-15th. Emails & phone calls will be answered in a timely manner when we return on Monday, March 18th.

Unless other arrangements have been made, Reading Specialists will still see 1-1 reading therapy clients on their scheduled day/time.

Looking for summer reading help for your PK-12 student? Our Summer Intensive reading program consists of 16 one-hour reading sessions completed over the summer, between May 28th through August 9th. (More sessions can be added!). Flexible scheduling around your busy summer schedule is our goal. Lesson plans are tailored to meet the specific academic needs of your student. Parents will receive a detailed end of the summer progress report. *All new students to the program will need to complete a full intake evaluation for us to create an individualized treatment plan. Scholarships are available through our partners at Literacy United.

The Literacy United and The Reading Connection offices will be closed from December 22nd through January 8th. Upon return on January 9th, emails and phone calls will be responded to in a timely manor.

Shout out to Fort Worth ISD's South Hills High School for showing up in the community for yesterday's Day of Giving!

As the month is coming to a close, we'd like to shine a light on the Tarrant County Commissioners Court for resolving October to be Disability Employment Awareness Month.

At Literacy United, we partner with MHMR of Tarrant County to provide quality reading and job readiness instruction to adults in our Reading for All program.

At Literacy United we love books! Through our partnership with Books Beginning at Birth, we were able to donate a variety of books to FWISD's E.M. Daggett Elementary.
The school gave these books to their families at their fall carnival, at no cost to the families. Thank you, Cruella, for encouraging your families to read! 😁📚📖
