Here’s my current work in progress.
12th century mace or 21st century meat tenderizer. You decide 😉

Where are my Bowie lovers?
5160 Bowie with fuller with a clip-point and a very slight belly. Blade tang tapers from .25” to .125”.
Handle is stabilized oak burl with white micarta bolsters and liners. Star copper mosaic pins give it that LoneStar flavor.
OAL is 15”
BL is 9.75”
If you have a Crocodile Hunter in your life this is the blade for him.

Brass hilt and spacer. Black micarta and white turquoise spacers. Stabilized walnut burl.

I grew pumpkins this year and the vines inspired the extreme twist.

Brute de forged primatives anyone?

Handles are deer antler or faux abalone with peened brass pins. All come with simple leather sheaths.

Late 19th to early 20th century Kora sword preservation.
When I received the piece the handle was loose, banged up and had gone through some prior repair. Blade was completely covered in active rust.
Removed most of the active rust and treated the small amount remaining to prevent further growth. Preserved the remains of the underlying steel. Revealed the engraved medallion toward the tip of the blade. Was able to stabilize loose parts of the pommel and take a dent out of the handle. Reattached the blade using historical methods and the prior retaining pin modification.
I have to say the blade taper is amazing the spine of the blade at the base is close to 3/8” and thins down to 3/32 at the tip. The cross section profile is almost a pipe back that goes to a deep fuller and then finishes with a gentle conex edge. The balance feels great. This would have been an amazing blade in its prime.

Buck 113C Mod!
I don’t do this very often but it was for a buddy.
Replaced the handle with Texas ebony. Added red liners, Crow Mosaic pin, and file work down the spine.

This dagger stand was fun.

The scabbard is almost done just a bit more clean up and then to glue the collar and chape on.
All that is left is setting the stones in the pommel.

It’s funny to think that I was able to make this Chape forming tool from that crap leaf spring.
It’s nice to be able to make stuff. 😅
We’ll see if it craps out when I start hammering on it.

Needed to make some metal forming stakes.
Decided to use a crap leaf spring some one gave me.
Think I may need a larger forge.🤪

Took a little break from the holidays. Time to get some stuff done.
Here’s the latest of the medieval dagger I’m working on. Just need to set some garnet stones in the pommel and make a scabbard. Then this one will be ready for a new home.

So this was a fun little restoration.
This is a Japanese Nata that the client wanted rehandled and new sheath.
Handle is Walnut. Mekugi (retention pin) is Stainless steel. Reused the ferrule ring.
Blade got a spa treatment and sharpening.
Sheath is brown stained leather.

1084 Three Finger Skinner with a stone wash finish.
Handle is red Raffir with brass mosaic pins.
