Today marks 11 years since Van Cliburn passed away. Though we all still mourn the loss of his inspired, supportive, and magnanimous spirit among us, we are constantly thankful to have such a powerful vision to solidly steer the Cliburn, even as it grows and evolves to serve artists and reach large audiences in today’s world. On this day, we pay tribute to his extraordinary legacy as a musician with this 1958 video of his performance of Rachmaninov Prelude in E-flat Major, op. 23, no. 6.
