The Sphinx Medal of Excellence is the highest honor bestowed by the Sphinx Organization, recognizing extraordinary leaders in the classical music field who are transforming lives while addressing the systemic obstacles within Black and Latino communities.
Clayton is joined by soprano Gabriella Reyes and violinist/composer Curtis Stewart as this year's honorees. Each honoree will receive a $50,000 career grant, acknowledging their artistic excellence, outstanding work ethic, determination, and ongoing commitment to leadership and their communities. These incredible artists embody the power of excellence and inclusion in classical music, and we can’t wait to see their continued contributions to the world.

The great American maestro Leonard Bernstein was born on this day in 1918. Did you know that Lenny composed the commissioned work "Touches" for the Sixth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition which was performed by all the Semifinalists? You can see he dedicated the work to his first love, the keyboard.

Last month the Cliburn was honored at the D CEO Magazine Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, receiving an award for Innovation in Education.
Our signature music education program, Cliburn in the Classroom, takes a holistic approach to music, catering to multiple learning styles, utilizing movement and peer-building activities, and addressing social-emotional learning objectives, while utilizing adaptive strategies so that every child can fully participate. We are honored to have received this award and we can't wait for another school year of Cliburn in the Classroom!

The Cliburn is proud to announce a new partnership with Chef Tim Love on a new venue for its club series, Cliburn Sessions, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary. All four Sessions concerts in the upcoming season will take place at Tannahill's Tavern and Music Hall, located in an historic Mule Barn in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The Guardian, The Times, and The Evening Standard all agree, 2022 Cliburn Gold Medalist Yunchan Lim's BBC Proms debut was one for the ages! Yunchan impressed the critics and charmed Prommers with his enticing take on Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with conductor Paavo Järvi and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
The Guardian says, "His touch was impossibly fine, transforming the keyboard into a gamut of exquisite tone colours. Each note was precious, each phrase crystalline."
