Sadly, I must announce that a friend of mine, Captain (ret.) Dallas Bethea, USN passed away this weekend. Dallas was a good friend. I met Dallas when he retained my Firm for a modest litigation matter, and we quickly became friends. Dallas was, put simply, a magnificent and splendid man. He was that type of person who simply radiates integrity. If Dallas said something, you could take that something to the bank. In his illustrious naval career Dallas was Captain of two naval ships, USS Cowpens and USS Gary. He often went into harm's way, and our country could not have been better represented. Dallas' passing, which was very unexpected, is a reminder that time is ephemeral. It passes quickly and irretrievably, and can take our friends and loved ones with it without warning or notice. Enjoy those close to you while you have them, because one day you will not. Or they will not.
