🎉We celebrated these two lovely ladies' birthdays this week! One clearly did not want her picture taken… Happy Birthday, Bridget and Liz! 🎉

Happy Nurses Week!! We are blessed with some of the best who serve our community and provide exceptional care to our patients!

Fun facts: Dr. Myhand grew up in army bases all over the US and Germany. His father was a career soldier. Dr. Myhand served in the US Army for over 20 years before retiring as a full colonel to pursue his dream of being a community oncologist. His wife also served our country, which led the two of them to meet!

We have a couple of other veterans in the Covenant family this year! One of our nurses, Megan, and the newest face around the office, Brian, both served in the US Navy!

Help us wish Morgan a Happy Birthday !!

Some of you may recognize this new face around the office! She has already proven to be a huge asset to the practice, and we are thrilled to have her on our team!

Julia McIntosh is a physician assistant with a considerable medical background in internal medicine. She grew up in South Carolina and then relocated to eastern Kentucky when she entered high school. After graduating high school, Julia obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Morehead State University. Having always been interested in medicine, she then procured her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Kentucky through a competitive and intimate rural track offered in her college town of Morehead. Upon graduating in 2016, Julia moved to Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to begin her career as a physician assistant. After spending six years expanding her foundation of clinical knowledge and skills, Julia decided to join Covenant Oncology and Hematology to focus her attention on the specialty that became personal to her when her own mother was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2018. Seeing the care and attention her mother received from the time of her diagnosis to her remission in late 2019 piqued Julia’s interest in specializing in oncology and hematology. Julia wanted to be a part of the process for other patients and families experiencing a cancer diagnosis in hopes she could positively impact those affected by cancer. Julia McIntosh desires to provide holistic care to her patients while treating their oncological and hematological diagnoses and being sensitive to each individual patient’s needs.

Exciting things are happening at Covenant Oncology & Hematology! We are happy to announce the addition of a new provider. Please help us in welcoming Elizabeth Hocker to our team!

Elizabeth A. Hocker is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Elizabeth is a Frankfort native and attended the University of Kentucky from 2009-2011. She completed her Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing at Kentucky State University in 2013 and 2014. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University in 2020 and is also a nationally Certified Oncology Nurse.
Prior to joining our team, Elizabeth worked for Baptist Health in Lexington for 10 years, with experience in Emergency Medicine and Oncology. She is a proud wife and mother of two children. She is passionate about caring for hematology/oncology patients and is thrilled to be practicing in her hometown!
