July is Disability Pride Month! This month and every month, we celebrate the unique strengths and talents of Advocates community members with disabilities, and we commit ourselves to breaking down barriers to full access and inclusion. 🧡💙

In case you missed it: July 1 marked a significant milestone for the HMEA community. HMEA and Advocates, affiliated since July 2021, are officially merged as one unified organization!

You might be curious about our new name and brand identity. After extensive input from individuals, families, staff, partners, and Board members, we've decided to adopt the Advocates name and logo. We believe that a single, strong, and unified organization will advance our mission, create more opportunities for employees, strengthen our advocacy voice with state government, and provide more options for people we serve and their families.

As part of our transition to a single organization, we will be moving our social media presence to Advocates’ accounts over the coming months. We will be posting on this HMEA account more sporadically as we make the transition, so we encourage you to follow Advocates, Inc. for the most up-to-date information!

2024 IncredABLE Day was a success! We raised more than $75,000! Every dollar raised at IncredABLE Day will go directly back into our programs, supporting our mission and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for giving back!

We had a wonderful time celebrating IncredABLE Day the other week. The heat didn't stop the 500-plus family, friends, and staff who enjoyed a fun day of food, games, and goodies! Thank you to those who attended and sponsored the event. We are so grateful for you!

On July 1, Advocates, Inc., HMEA, and Family Continuity will merge to become a single, unified organization: Advocates. We’re joining forces to create one of the most comprehensive human service providers in the state, serving more than 40,000 individuals and families across Massachusetts and Rhode Island and employing more than 2,500 staff members.

We’ll be sharing more information about the merger in the coming weeks, but one important thing to know is that individuals and families will continue to receive the same supports and services. No services are being eliminated or reduced. In fact, together, we are poised to support more individuals and families and enhance the services we provide.

Together, we will lead the way in helping thousands of individuals and families find the support they need to thrive.
